Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 1)

lol not like it really matter since the things that would make the FGR4 better then their EFT arent really working in game

Is it just me, or is it eazyer in game to HMD lock an missile then getting an lock of an actuall plane…

(With the EF)

yeah ive noticed that with the gripen C as well

(gotta love the pilot downscaling to a 1950 pilot)

I think Gaijins recent radar changes have just put a lot of emphasis on velocity. So the radars just detect things that are moving fastest first

Tbf, I gave up trying to understand what they changed xD

When was the last EF change?
I cant remember…

It’s funny cause now locking enemy missiles and shooting them down has become a good line of defense haha. I mistakenly shoot down 1 or 2 per match

(and I also think it gives RP)

EF specific change. Feb?

But general radar change that would have affected the EF was about 3 to 4 weeks ago?

I know. Fought an Su30 in a 1v1 in a GSB match, nothing I could do against it. He just shot down every AMRAAM

In ASB it’s a chore, because I have to fire off one AMRAAM from one angle and then try and fire off a second frok a different angle whilst defending in a third to make as complicated a picture as possible. If I fired 1 straight, it would be shot down

I cant remember how much of this is true but I think someone was looking into a EFT with TVC right? I assume there hasnt really been any prototypes built

iirc only the engine was build

last I heard about it, they were looking into the functionality of TVC on the EJ200 engines so that would make sense

there are a few videos of the nozzle

but this one is somewhat outdated as the guy is speaking about a naval EF

I doubt it will ever be built (as in the full airframe with the TVC engines), even just a prototype. Looks like AMK is the way they plan to go to improve the FM further than then with aircraft like Tempest in development, there isnt really much incentive to develop such expensive upgrades.

Would be a hilarious event vehicle though

Crying shame, that would’ve been really cool

Late to the discussion, Magic 2 in-game has a 60 degree/s track rate in-game which is realistic so it is likely for the MICA IR to have that given that without specific values, values from the previous iteration is normally used.

Hey, I found the solution for this downscaled pilot, I assume you’re using nVidia Ansel right?

If you want the pilot to be not downscaled, you need to reduce the FOV of replay free cam in the control menu, then when you want to take a screenshot, put your War Thunder Free Cam as close as possible to the pilot, then zoom out via the Ansel. The pilot should be not downscaled again. I tried this when I want to take a screenshot too for my photo.

Gonna try this out, thank you for the advice :)

So couple things, Magic 2 isn’t the previous iteration of MICA. So borrowing from that isn’t happening, and the devs do use figures which have a “more than” or “greater than” but you only get the number claimed not the speculated more/greater. So in this instance it would be 30°/s.

Would be weird for them to use 30 degrees a second track rate knowing that the MICA IR is a more capable missile replacing the Magic 2, and Magic 2 uses 60 degrees per second track rate. We know MICA IR is an evolution of Magic 2 and intended to replace it.
