No, it even says it right there for Mk2 where the GaN “allows multi-tasking of radar tracking use and electronic warfare simultaneously”. I believe the brochure for the Mk2 also shows this. Perhaps Mk1 uses some GaN but not extensively, not sure.
Im not well versed in AESA theory or the difference between them beyond Wiki. So I wont comment. Others might though
does GaAs have any advantages over GaN or is GaN better in literally every way?
maybe the mixed GaAs GaN allows for mk2 to multi task, at a sacrifice to power for the different modes
From what I’m reading here the Mk1 is supposed to be mixed GaAs and GaN. Mk2 is supposed to be fully GaN, Rafale is also stated to be moving its RBE2 over to GaN in the Rafale F4.2 allowing for simultaneous jamming and radar search/tracking.
I need @Flame2512 to drop the Mk2 brochure to show again what it says.
Nvm, found it
Wow it’s very nice, thanks )
Marketing lie
According to this article the Mk.1 is pretty much supposed to be a Mk.0 but with GaN T/R modules instead of GaAs and a digital receiver, at least in stage 1.
So the Mk.1 at first will be like the Mk.0 except better range and SAR resolution (necessitated by the Luftwaffe’s requirements fulfilled by the new GaN modules).
Hensoldts page for the radar also says that it has new modules resulting in better performance over the Mk.0 and turns it from a “classic fighter radar” into a “true multi-functional system” capable of “ESM and EA”.
Stage 2 (planned for 2028) will add offensive EW and improve performance trough a new processor/software updates.
And where are you reading that the Mk.1 is supposed to be mixed and the Mk.2 fully GaN?
The wiki and the article says the opposite…
It’s astonishing how base level knowledge about aircraft like the Captor-M being a great radar to bridge the gap between AESA and mechanical radars being completely ignored by Gaijin.
All they need to do is give us P-Track already and everyone would complain a lot less, reuse some code from the AESA/PESA radars and bam!
No more Goldfish-M.

maybe you should make a dedicated thread for the bug-reports, so it is esier to find
How do you manage this, as whenever i fly out of the targeting pods gimble the aim resets and so it no longer guides the missile in, either that or it delocks meaning i have to manually guide it in for the last 5 seconds while dodging 4 missiles comign at me? I keep trying and cant see to find the correct key series or key binds. Any tips would be welcome as my best bet is to fly above their radar and fire from above until i can come in closer.
A tutorial would be even better, or a link to one of your videos with a good example.
so I see the SPEAR 3 is an internal report wonder if that means there is an actual chance of it comming or not, because that is a LOT of missing weapons
You know… They did the exact same thing to Germany right? They gave the Japanese Alpha Jet the C.20 engines while the German Alpha jets have the C.6 engines, despite all of them being upgraded to C.20.
And the best thing about this is, they just got the C.20 name; they still have the same power output as the C.6 engines.
But it’s already reported internally.
I’ll make a step by step video at some point. I realise just listing what you do in order isn’t helpful for the practical implementation haha. So let me get some clips and get back to you :).
from messing around with the brimstone I have found that if you fire it and drop the floor from more then 10km and there is a pantsir they will intercept up to 6 of them, with in 10km its a lot harder it would seem, the most kills I’ve had in a game is 4 as when you start racking up kills people jump in spaa for revenge and if you are half way through a run and a pantsir spawns in not a whole lot you can do but hope lol
I’ve seen them used to great effect against SPAA in very close quarters, but you need to be good at placing your SPI markers in third person, its very high work load which means you’re more likely to make mistakes. But when it goes well it looks brutal.
Any good fixes to the Eurofighter in the next patch will be welcome and appreciated. Even showing just 10% of the compassion for the Eurofighter compared to other aircraft would already be a good start
oh yeah its defiantly got the potential to be incredibly deadly just need a bit more skill to pull it off is all
