Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 1)

Why would they be GPS only? If we eschew the mmW component then it has the PW4 guidance method already present in game.

No one to my knowledge has denied SPEAR-3 for being too OP? Its a SAL+IOG/GPS weapon when you ignore the mmW component, but even with its comical range, its still a tandem HEAT/frag weapon exactly like Brimstone. So I can’t see how needing a direct impact would be OP.

I think you’re shadow boxing a strawman you’ve made of the devs here.

Figuring that SAL+GPS on a long ranged stand-off weapon would be considered too OP as we havent gotten the GBU-53? Yet which is the same. So further artificially nerfing it to be GPS-Only as a way of increasing the chance of getting it maybe required.

Whenever it has been brought up in other threads there are calls for it being OP and that the only way it could be added is with GBU-53 or Grom-1s and devs quite often listen to the US/Soviet communities for input.

All I see is the Typhoon with Brimstone 1s instead of Brimstone 2s. SAL instead of MMW, a placeholder radar that barely works and a long list of bug reports that never seem to get fixed. Heck, where even is ePaveway II for the FGR4? That could have been added like a year ago for the GR7 and the fact its not even in game yet especially for the Typhoon is just insane.

SHar and Tornado have simply taught me the devs just dont care. We will have to wait a year or more for any fix and when they do come, they’ll be half finished anda buggy mess.

The fact after 5 months we dont even have CAPTOR-M yet. I think expecting even Brimstone 2s this major update is asking for too much, let alone Spear-3s

ive seen people trying to claim it would be op because “cruise missile” lol

Bro

We haven’t gotten GBU-53 because its not been added yet, I’ve seen no statements that is due to balance concerns. Most likely reason we don’t have SPEAR-3 as of yet, is we don’t have jet powered weapons as of yet. (buzz bombs not included).

Not only are Brimstones ike 200 SP cheaper, you can fire them off at plethora of different angles, also you can utilize shoot and scoot tactic, which AASM or PGM cannot do due to time it takes them to fire up seeker and confirm that it actually locked.

Right, exactly.

Which means we need to wait until they are added alongside everyone else.

It seems that asking for something that no one else has yet is a big no-no for the Typhoon.

We wont get Spear-3s until everyone else gets equal or better. Meanwhile KH-38MT exists without equal.

Its a fair statement in the use of SAL weaponry in contested airspace is more effort than a FnF weapon. Its not a complete mischaracterization. I don’t that stretches past that exact scenario but be charitable and assume its about employing weapons such as Brimstone.

I like to play F-2000A with Centauro I 120 and utilize this to the max. 18x Brimstones is my preferred loadout.

I mean 18 of them would be funny, but the warhead requires a direct impact to kill, so you can’t cheese bases with them as you can test the effectiveness of that now by hitting a base with 18 Brimstone, it does basically nothing haha.

Almost always the right loadout, as you can also abuse helicopters.

strongest use would be in SB to snipe base AA but even then the limitation of the TGP being 20km it would basically be the same as the GBU-39

SPEAR-3 isn’t a KH-38 class of weapon, they share almost nothing. You need to stop with the whataboutism and strawman arguments.

Should you wish to discuss the merits of SPEAR or Brimstone that doesn’t need to include a diatribe of “but muh KH-38” commentary.

Nah, the only concern in SB would be score-farming accross map by firing at the AF from the AF with CCRP. Even though they do little damage, they would still generate score

Yeah, also way more stable. Yesterday i played with Raf and wasted an AASM because it has quite low lock on range against helis. I also gound a bug that makes it hard to lock onto targets with 3rd person. Meanwhile i have no issue eith that with Brimstones.

Then what is a KH-38 class of weapon that the EFT could actually get?

Typhoon ASRAAMs?

and even forgetting about GRB for the moment, which unfortunately takes prescedence for any discussion of A2G weapon loadouts. Having a spammable GPS weapon like GBU-39 would open a lot of doors for the Typhoon in ASB, but nope not here yet and the Tornado GR4 is limited to the same gameplay as the tornado GR1 because it has no Brimstones *(that can be used within that gamemode)

Limit is 30km now, and you can use map SPI (just gotta really zoom in for that good placement).

Just wish we had the correct Brimstone 2s that had decent range, speed and prox fuse for dealing with them.

I find if the heli has LWR, they dodge the Brimstones most of the time

We don’t operate that kind of weaponry so nothing.

would the airfield AA show up on the map past 30km? also didnt know they upped the TGP to 30km neat
