Well, you can pick up to 6…
I know? Haha
When the iris t comes. Will it be able to be on a dual rack like the sim 9m?
is the asramm be able to?
or does it use a different launch rail from the sidewinders unlike the IRIS-T
No idea tbh
i think wherever an aam9 can fitt an asraam can.
ASRAAM works on the same rails as any AIM-9M
funny enough im pretty sure the dual rack was a liberty gaijin took because I know the dual rack was for ASRAAMs
the picture of the dual rack we have carries the IRIS-T
and the IRIS-T uses the same launch rail as the sidewinder,
it was able to be fired by the F-4F ice without modifing the launch rail
ASRAAM and IRIS-T were specifically designed to be intercompatible with Aim-9.
fair enough
considering gaijin has kinda just combined all of the EFT variants I wonder if they will all get IRIST and ASRAAM because if they do, I assume the “meta” loadout would be 4 Meteors, 4 ASRAAMs and 2 IRISTs
We’ll have to wait and see. I hope they dont, not only because thats a balancing mess, but also gives a reason to fly more than 1 Typhoon and in SB, it creates asymmetry between FGR4 and EF-2000
I think Italian would get both- trialed asraam and has iris-t. Not sure about british
Britian is pure ASRAAM. (Why you’d want to use the ASRAAM-Lite instead of the full ASRAAM is beyond me :P )
But I can see Italy just having IRIS-T because that is what it actually used. with the disclaimer of “Yes, we know there is a picture with both, but for balance, its limited to just the main weapon it used”
Imagine, an EF with AMRAAM, ASRAAM, Meteor and IRIS-T xD
Throw a few Prox fuse Brimstone 3s in there for good measure
Would literally be prepared for anything
