Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 1)

Current War Thunder Rafale will be just pointing it’s nose. And at the speeds you are likely to fly at in AIR RB it will have more than enough speed/energy to exchange for positioning while Eurofighter will actually struggle to bleed speed.

Iam specificly talking about situations where they think they are sneeky with their IRST after pinging your RWR and you know exactly what is coming

You know what you need to do in those situations?

Put the fight in the vertical.
You don’t have to stay horizontal and going vertical is ideal against someone who just bleed all his speed to get on your 6

I’ve yet to encounter a Rafale pilot smart enough to do that. I’ve gotten the odd kill in the Typhoon by doing that, as they just dont see the Aim-9M coming (though they really need to hurry up and fix AIm-9M lock range)

Usually they just start slinging MICA EMs at me

Just hope they dont then take advantage of the fact you are sat on max reheat, in a position that isnt going ot defend easily to sling an HOBS Magic II or MICA EM up your tail pipe

This is the key point here.

Top tier is not guns only. Yes, the Typhoon has the better FM, but that advantage is lost with the lack of HOBS missiles. Rafale might be slightly weaker (and should be a lot weaker if both airframes were modeled correctly) but HOBS just closes the gap in performance completely and flips the advantage

We are not talking about Bf-109F/G vs Spitfire V here…

Pre flaring helps alot even tho they are just small caliber

So you don’t think the same ruels apply to a jet?
How foolish of you

Actually, I think the default set up these days, is running pure flares in the large calibre internals and pure chaff in the BOLs.

That way you dont have to waste flares having to assume what is being dropped is a BOL. But still, Pre-flaring might protect you from a Magic II, i’ve had mixed success with a Magic II fired from extremely short range at me and doesnt do anything against a MICA EM, BOL Chaff isnt good enough to defeat anything on its own

Looks legit, now where is this from

So you are saying @Sean74218 might have found the holy grail of the EF thread?

Unless I used noise detection wrong, he did, although pretty sure a source can be given, as this can also be from a game or whatever

I just made a post relating to the EF as a work around to the Brimstone nerf any thoughts? Litening III Targeting Pod Capabilities

I thought gaijin didn’t use pictures as sources

hey surbaisse how do we measure speed ingame
i am making a suggestion and i dont really know what is the fitted top speed because alot of sources stated differently
like some stated mach 2.0 is ~2200km/h and some stated ~2500km/h and some stated ~1300km/h

Combined with the secondary sources confirming that AMRAAM on inner pylons is possible. It might be enough.

But they dont inherrently trust them outright because of how easy it is to photoshop them.

So they could turn around and give a million reasons as to reject this image and more than a few would be fair (like the quality being too low to confirm what is on the pylon). There is every chance they will reject any image, even ones that are vertifiable as an excuse to avoid buffing the Typhoon.

What is probably need is video footage of a Typhoon with AMRAAM/METEOR on those pylons or photos from a million angles from an event like an airshow and or a primary source.

they do in case of carried weapons.

so if you have a picture of a Eurofighter carrying 10 Amraams it can be used to bug report the loadout

Can’t help with that, I’m terrible at math

Is this used to spot photoshopping?
