I doubt the picture would show this loadout, I think it was just a ref
It’s a random website so not necessarily reliable though.
I think the sources are the most interesting part of it
Sparrow on the EF?
not possible
I know, say it to the table
Not possible, during development the Italian Air Force had a requirement for a CW illuminator so they could fire Aspides. But the CWI never happened so any weapons charts you see with SARH missiles is based on early development rumours and is not accurate.
And thats good.
I wouldnt not want to grind trough thise missles bwfore getting to the mraams
Welp after doing my daily check-up on this thread to see how things are going and if there’s more developments, I noticed a Coping American player in here a few hours ago shame I wasn’t awake.
I even had something ready for them…
Well the DASS display is certainly capable of displaying of displaying those targets, and I cant see any good reason why the radar shouldnt be able to track them
(My guess for the meaning of FLN would be Flanker, so it probably includes ESM as well)
Only problem is that doesnt imply the MAWS can, as its already known that the RWR on the EFT can ID targets and has a precision of sub 1° iirc.
but in range as well? Usually ESM is kinda bad at range estimations, but the display goes out to 40nm (74km). You certainly wont detect missiles at those distances
Maybe datalink info?
C’mon it’s 1 word.
HunterFox
There we go, 1 word 😛
I have a question about the LWR. Does it work in all laser radiation ranges? That is, any laser beam hitting the Typhoon triggers this system? For example, IRST on anti-aircraft systems or in IRST with a laser rangefinder, like on the Su-27? Or only in some specific ranges?
I did not have the opportunity to test this in the game, but if it does not trigger on IRST with rangefinders or TGP, then in theory this should be reported?
In theory it should. Gaijin doesnt model lasers having different intensities and so in theory any laser should trigger the LWR
Calculated from radar dome size and used frequeny the range of the MAWS PD-Radar is assumed to be as followed (no source as these are assumptions based on calculations):
- MANPADS (0,01 m²) → 11 km
- Air-to-Air missile (0,1 m²) → 20 km
- Small fighter plane (2,5 m²) → 44 km
- Big fighter plane (25 m²) → 78 km
For PIMAWS (IR-based missile detection) it is the following (Source):
- Stinger (UV/IR) → Burning >6 km, Burnt out >3 km
- Mistral (IR) → Burning 6,5 km, Burnt out 5,5 km
- 9K32 Strela-2 (IR) → Burning 4 km, Burnt out 0,5 km
- 9K33 Osa (RF) → Burning 12 km, Burnt out 5 km
- 9K35 Strela-10 (IR) → Burning 10 km, Burnt out 7 km
- 9K310 Igla-1 (IR) → Burning 5 km, Burnt out 1,5 km
Speaking of, I wonder if the Rafales MAWS will have issues with clouds. Sim is absolutely filled with clouds as of late.
Problem with clouds is that they are client based and not everyone has the same cloufs.
So that could be screwed in a multitude of ways.
If they even make it affected by clouds
