We really should just get away from this “MOAR AMRAAM” thing until gunjob or someone else gets us more info regarding specifics from wither operators or manufacturers. Were just going in circle with the info we already have, and we dont NEED the extra 2 AMRAAM’s atm.
This is however not a museum, and is a real, applicable photo to demonstrate the usage of a double pylon for IR missiles, and since the IRIS-T is compatible on all pylons capable of mounting NATO standard missiles like AIM-9 sidewinder, it’s pretty easy to add to war thunder since this is the type of evidence Gaijin wants, not 3D mockup renders and imaginary loading charts
We need to focus on getting the FM and avionics as accurate as possible, the EFT will already be the best jet in game if added with realistic capabilities on it’s airframe alone, missiles can wait until then (besides we shouldn’t see aircraft with more than 8 fox-3s come to the game in the first place, it stops being fun at that point and becomes a dodge the endless missile spam simulator)
The fastenings where the double pylon is placed are identical on the entire wing. Just like the same bombs are attached without any transitional pylons.
Only here 3 triple pylons are likely to touch each other in width, although they may not. So at least 12 Aim-120s could be obtained, although in theory it is possible to get up to 16 if there are 3 double pylons on the wings + 4 under the belly. So it would be possible to get up to 16 Aim-120)))
I’m for 8 amraams because I play GRB and 4 of them on the phantom is not enough to wipe the floor with all the russian CAS polluting the skies. 6 would be fine, but 8 would be optimal.
This is why german mains are so annoying to interact with, stop being inconsiderate and asking for as many missiles as possible, start being realistic and focusing on accuracy and balance for our typhoons
Any loadout on a T2 or below with any more than 6 MRAAM missiles (whether meteor or AIM-120) is simply a demonstrative loadout, there is no applicable evidence that suggests any more than that without it being a promotional demo or rendering
Theoretically it could carry all hardpoints other than the 4 fuselage one with AIM120B’s on double mounts as all hardpoints other than the 4 fuselage ones are STANAG 4694 so that means 22 (13 hardpoints with 11 sets of two) aim120B however not all hardpoints are wired correctly to fire missiles
