I thought you meant they won’t install the wingtips as a whole and keep the old ones. If they’re just installing the QRTs with a different RPS then indeed.
So, gajomb apparently stated that every nation would have at least one AESA radar by the end of the year, so what are your thoughts? Would it be another EF or they would just drop something unreasonable in a tree?

I can’t think of anything else (un)reasonable which they could put into the tree… It’s all too far off…
Netherland, Switzerland and Denmark did the direct jump from F-16 and F/A-18 to the F-35. So if they don’t want to add the F-35 at christmas they have no other choice but to add another Typhoon.
I dont think anyone has an alternative to the EFT bar F-35 for Germany or Italy.
Britain could get a few options, but none all that good.
So I dont think they have any choice other than AESA for EFT.
The question is, how they’ll do it.
How I would do it.
Add the T1 Typhoons missed to “replace” the EFT at 14.0/14.3 and then add AESA to the current EFT in game move the EFT with AESA up to 14.7 with the Rafale CF3 and then add ASRAAM/IRIS-T to the “current” now 14.7 Typhoon with AESA.
Then in the future, add a T4/5 EFT with AMK, Meteors, etc.
But Gaijin is Gaijin… So? God knows what they’ll do

They’ve said no Gen 5 aircraft until at least summer next year. So I think we are safe this december.
But I do wonder what the BIG thing will be. For air, its either going to be Gen 5 IRs and/or ECM

If they remove the stealth capability of the F-35 it would be a jet which would be a worse F-16 currently lol
Much less payload, less maneuvarbility, worse endurance…

So the F-35 being a much worse F-16 in nearly every aspect except for the AESA radar and MAW is on the table…

They’re just different aircraft, but I do, personally, dislike f-35 quite a bit, it looks cool though
The power-to-weigt ratio of the F-35 is worse than that of the F-16 at both minimum and maximum weight. Additionally they sacrificed maneuvarability for stealth at the F-35. Its weight to wing-surface ratio is also much worse than that of the F-16 meaning it will lose much more speed in turns as the wing-load is much higher per square meter.
So what uses does it have in War Thunder? You can’t turn fight, you have a really small payload (without external payload), its acceleration and climb is worse than that of the F-16. Radar and MAWs are the only advantages it would have ingame over the F-16 besides the EOTS integrated targeting pod.

If you’re stuck with the F-35 then you just have to accept you have the worst 5th gen for War Thunder tbh.
I vehemently hate it in real life, and it’ll be the same in war thunder.
EFT tiers are gonna be good eating for us.
Hopefully 5th gens only fight other 5th gens.

I think the F-35 gets overhyped.
The way Americans talk about it, you’d think it could end world hunger, find the cure to cancer and write poetry.
But in reality, its only exceptional at SEAD and just has bells and whistles that give it an edge in A2A but those arent necessarily unique. Its a bit, Meh, at everything else
The only thing that would really intrigue me when they get added is the look through cockpit stuff in SB, everything else. Im kinda not that fussed about.

Don’t know how you expect to conduct SEAD with no standoff munitions whatsoever.
Spear-3 and Spear-EW if/when they are added.
Its the only role that I think the F-35 does actually beat out something like the EFT and purely because its stealth.
But in every other role, something else is just better

Yeah… Hopefully, if its a capability actually needed before then. They’ll just do what they did to fit Aim-9Ls onto the SHars and make it happen, Americans be damned or it will force the Americans to actually do the intergration instead of postponing it constantly for made up nonsense reasons

I bet on Gen 5 IRs. That’s is the only thing that can expalin why the Tornado SLE is sitting at 12.3 with 2 missiles. If not that Gaijin lack of reality in their own game, but right, they know they game right?
