Nice photos… cuz I took those haha. Was an old userskin I made
nvm aha

These would be War Thunder screenshots, just in case.
That landing gear looks terrifying.
It is because there’s currently a bug where if you drop a GPS bomb on a point of sensor while being at low altitude, it will go to a complete different area. @totolescargo was going to bug report this but he hadn’t gone around to it just yet. If the bomb is dropped at a higher altitude, it goes right to the point of sensor but this can be useless since you might just get smacked by SPAA at those altitudes.
You mean the bug which was fixed like 2 weeks ago?
was it? could you find the changelog for me? me and totoles had this discussion in early jan

A bug where laser homing seekers that did not have the ability to uncage would send incorrect target coordinates and speed data to the autopilot after locking on, causing the munition to miss its target has been fixed. (Report, Report).

GBU-10/12/16/48/49/50 Paveway II, Paveway IV, GBU-54B LJDAM, GBU-62 LJDAM-ER, KAB-500L, KAB-1500L, BGL-400, BGL-1000, Mk.13, Mk.18, GB3, GB500, BA-FG-230-Lizard-2, BA-FG-230-Lizard-3, Fire Snake 90A, GATR, CIRIT, AGM-123 Skipper, AGR-20A (APKWS II M151), AGR-20B (APKWS II M282) — a wind stabilization mechanic has been added to aerodynamically stabilized laser seekers. Now in flight, the seeker is directed along its flight direction (velocity vector) instead of along the central axis of the munition, which lowers the chance of losing the target.
Fair enough, then I don’t know what would cause the issue for FlyingOstridge
Hi @Smin1080p_WT
After those discussions on the different systems and to which nations would get what (AMK, Pirate, ECRS), do you know what would possibly be the decision regarding the use of ASRAAM and IRIS-T ? Would those missiles be hard limited to the key real life users or would everyone be entitled to get both missiles ?
Yep, took about 5 months from my report. Though PW4 was actually one of the few unaffected bombs
That post wasn’t made as the tech mod, rather as a player, I’m more asking to someone under their official capacity.
I also don’t completely agree with him when he says that IRIS-T and ASRAAM give the same capacity but with a different flavor. IRIS-T would be a very short range put really maneuverable missile compared to ASRAAM, while the latter would be employed in the current fox 3 engagement range.
Appart from the fact that both missiles are IR, they don’t give the same capability in the slightest.
They are equal but opposite.
Personally, I would find it incredibly boring to have both, especially when then fighting someone with both. Typhoon with IRIS-T vs Typhoon with ASRAAM would help break up some of the monotony of the current Typhoon vs Typhoon combat you can have.
Also gives a reason to grind out more than 1.
Happy about getting asraam? Too bad it would be just a copy-paste of R-27ET xd
2x IRIS-T + 4x ASRAAM + 4x AMRAAM (+16x SPICE 250 (ER) for A2G if needed) would be quite the loadout :D
Would probably be kinda broken too. 4C5s, 3 ASRAAM and 3 IRIS sounds like jack of all trades on steroids.
The only problem is if Gaijin fucks up either ASRAAM or IRIS one part of the playerbase will be screwed.
And there we have the real reason why Gaijin is probably going to make them different €€€€€
it would be… but Id still find it a tad boring.
Yeah, exactly, on top of being kinda boring it would be OP as hell.
Well… we know exactly who would get screwed.
