Tranche 1 Block 5 introduced PIRATE, anything built after the fact is compatible. All the new AESA Typhoons are Tranche 2’s as donated by the GPS antenna behind the cockpit and the lack of CFT mounts found on Tranche 3 airframes.

Later on in the game, IF more capabilities come like EW, I think it will be better to get the italian/british typhoon even though I have the german typhoon already. I don’t want to fly a plane that will be nerfed because politics chose mk1 over mk2.
ECRS will provide a pretty big leap in EW for the new Typhoons, Eurofighter EK Arexis will have advantages in egress jamming for sure. Also we don’t know yet what the NextGen DASS will look like when its finished.

Isnt the ECRS Mk1 planned to get EW capabilites in Step 2 in like 2028 or something 2?
Hello Smin, I have a bit of a question regarding the yak 141 that randomly appeared in the BR changes. It says something in the lines of change in the visual model. Does this mean the vehicle will change of version or anything similar? In what way is the model changing regarding the addition of R73 to its load.

Hey. Currently its just regarding the addition of R-73 and the relevant Pylons. However it is not finalised yet and still subject to change.
I’m not quite sure, but I think that all the typhoons should be the same. It’s not fair to players who grinded the wrong nation that got nerfed because Germany wanted to protect their interests in FCAS/politics/jobs/german doctrine/budget. Nobody knows what Gaijin will do for balancing in the future, but I’m not gonna gamble on that. Might as well drop the ef2000 and grind italy/britain now before new variants come.
And yeah still stuck with 90 degrees. Not that big of a nerf than 100 degrees, but still a nerf.

Great! Thanks for answering. Now may I ask for a crumble of update about certain bug of the Tam Sam Kai spaa… It’s been 8 months since release and it still can’t carry both of its missile without getting a 20 seconds reload jumpscare every time.
I disagree, i find that level of symmetry really boring and actually kills any reason to grind another tree for a different Typhoon.
I wish they had meaningful differences in A2G loadout
I really hope they dont just slap IRIS-T and ASRAAM on all 3
and I think some difference in EW ability would be interesting, so long as it was equal and opposite, not heavily one-side.

Honestly with how classified all electronic warfare stuff is its gonna be complete guesswork anyway. So as long as there is no first hand source specifically stating that ECRS Mk2 is significantly better than Mk1 its gonna be fine.
EW is going to be heavily simplified anyway, there is no way it will have any significant difference between airframes
Yes game wise sense true, but the thought of starting a whole new air tree for the same typhoon but better sounds exhausting to me.

I hope so, but from what I saw, MK2 is better CURRENTLY because it has self defense and offensive EW. Right now, MK1 is just mainly self defense EW based on what I read, I could be wrong. In the future, looks like maybe MK1 can be upgraded to MK2 standards.
See, im the opposite, im picking at the Italian air tree at the moment and the thought of getting to the bottom of the tree eventually just to unlock a 100% identical aircraft is really boring. Wouldnt be if it had IRIS-T and the FGR4 had ASRAAM

In terms of EW, it wont just be Mk1 ECRS vs Mk2 ECRS but also eDASS vs Arexis and that could be overall quite interesting

Well, it does depend on whether they add eDASS and Arexis, if they dont add either then they will all just have DASS
