Because it could turn too well at high speed, players complained that the Typhoon could defend against BVR threats too effectively.
To my knowledge there was no bug report for the change it is just something Gaijin have done. Like the Gripen changes to restrict the Typhoon, as a result an F-4S will pull similar G now
That doesn’t make sense. The “12g” limit isn’t absolutely safe limit every plane use. 12g is within 9g…9g*1.5. 18g absolute structure limit is nonsense, nobody in his mind would built such a plane that would be overweight garbage. Creators specially don’t allow planes to be overstrengthed for flight regimes at which plane would never even fly.
I’d argue that they would never be totally unplayable. F-15E can play long BVR and win due to having more Fox3’s. Su-30 can just use R-77-1 as APS lol.
Its a rule applied to EVERY aircraft in game. All have a 1.5x safety margin on their structural limitations. It has no impact on aerodynamic capabilities.
Thats a limitation of the game engine…If a loaded F-4 can pull 9G yet it’s manual states no more than 4.5. Why shouldnt a Typhoon be able to pull double what the manual states?
Guys who complain about the Eurocanards have no idea how lethal they are. It’s like being mad at a Spitfire because it’s great.
