You cant use it at slow speed as the rudder wants to flip the aircraft and make you crash.
It’s all very disappointing
you can use it at low speed but in a limited fashion imo
i prefer to use it for short instantenous turns if needed, then disable so it doesnt cause non sense
Looks like the AOA can be changed via Software updates
FCS-Softwareversionen:
- Phase 3: 2001, 9 g Flugleistungsbereich, erster Serienstandard
- Phase 4: Luft/Boden-Bewaffnung
- Phase 5: Volle Kampffähigkeiten
didnt find for now a better source
Eurofighter Typhoon
It doesn’t exist as Typhoon doesn’t use that kind of system.
AOA control is only for low slow speed recovery it is not for pulling “cobras”
Typhoon like Rafale flight control system is designed to operate and give the pilot what they need.
I don’t believe the flight control system can be overridden and I haven’t seen any documents/pilot sources to confirm otherwise
I prefer to have an accurate fm and not a gimick that Russian jets and legacy gen 4 airframes need.
Also another intresting wiki entry thats very Informative, sadly most sources it cites are dead
No but it is at ITR and STR and in game it is underperforming in both regimes
fixed after we get f22
This is why I hate how the devs do things
Typhoon/Rafale should be the best in game and instead they crap on Typhoon, buff the Rafale and as you said Typhoon will find miraculous buffs/reports actioned when the Su-35 and F-15EX are added.
Sick of it
Phase 2B2 corroborates what I’ve already heard and seen from the people in the know-how tbh, so the old FM was unironically more accurate it seems.
Also for those interested, the source used by Iluminas is the official Austrian Airforce website for the Eurofighter, as such, it’s quite primary.
Did you check the links with an archive?
Gaijin will chose what to accept, and when to action. There is sadly no open transparent policy.
It really is “dealers choice”
some already link to the way back machine but even those are dead
The button doesn’t even do anything anyway, not anything meaningful at any rate.
EF was made for transonic speeds, the plane was not made for slow speeds and high AoA. In reality, having high alpha and maneuverability at slow speeds is not that important. That explains the AoA limit on the EF. Although even here there has been a drift towards 30 AoA due to the aerodynamic kit which of yet nobody wants.
Eurofighter is more of a average 13.7 right now.
I’m waiting for Defyns next cope video about how the Typhoon with it’s gimped fm and trash Radar
Is still the best jet in the game…
Maybe in a guns only fight it is if you airbreak it perfectly but that is not how an aircraft should be measured over all.
Eurofighter feels like I would expect an heavily upgraded F-4F ICE would feel.
One with changed aerodynamics, new engines and adjustet FCS.
It is called Eurofighter, it looks like an Eurofighter but it is no Eurofighter.
Difference is that for the rafale 2 things corroborate the existence of such a system
- the plane had a full override system used to get out of flat spin (would be nice if it worked in game lol)
- the plane has performed 100º AOA maneuvers, at -40kt, without loss of control.
Those 2 show that the plane has its ways to override the usual AOA limiter completely
