Eurofighter Typhoon - Germany's Best Fighter Jet (Part 1)

Either that, or they need to add some kind of precision hit mechanic to bases to make GBUs more effective, though that would just further increase the power of everything else as well.

(also when we get JP233s and MW-1, gunna need to SEAD airfields somehow :P)

Wtf how do you even calculate that. You need what, 3 2000lb bombs for one base at top tier.
You cant slap 3 bases with C eagle, you can do barely one with full AA load.
F16C same.

I just like how it all looks, and those who like to storm the fields during marathons and so calmly climb to a height of 5-6km and they don’t care if there is air defense there or not.

Kh kh…

Until the air defense in the fields starts working at an altitude of 5-6 km. All these conversations are meaningless and everything will continue the same way.

i gotta ask because i hate acronyms, whats the MMW on the brimstone 1 stand for?

Millimetre wave

mmW → Millimetre Wave (meaning: the wavelength of the radar is in the millimetre range)
In case of the Brimstone the radar frequency is 94 GHz resulting in a wavelength of 3,19 mm.

Ah i see, tho i assume we dont have this ingame implemented given that the SALs work only off of laser designation.

Additionally i was surprised that the missiles along with hellfires from helicopters like apaches attempt to fly towards a sight designation point and then require a laser designation only in the last 10-20% of the flight in order to accurately hit the target.

2 BLU-27B napalm bombs will kill a base, the C Eagles can carry up to 9, so 4.5 bases, tho theres deminishing returns since you give up the extra fuel, and theres only 5 bases at a time anyways, so if anyone else is bombing too, you’re wasting ressources and competing with a teammate.

Theres also no point in killing even 4 bases in one run unless nobody is bombing on your team and you’re pushing for a match win, as you’ll clear the max useful action reward.

The C Eagle can actually kill 5 bases in 1 run but needs to sacrifice 4 AAM’s to bring some extra bombs on the CFT’s. Theres literally no reason to do this tho.

As stupid as it might sound, since its just bombing static, largely undefended targets, there can be a decent bit of thought put into bombing bases to maximize your teams chance of winning. As I dont like just bombing (i like doing all objectives and air to air) I hold planes capable of doing multimission sorties with little to no compromise in their air to air capabilities in very high regards. The Typhoon might be the king of air to air next update, but its ability to assist in the ground objectives efficiently remains to be seen imo.

prob because of Napalm

Yeah, the issue is that MMW can see through smoke and so there is no counter. Also 18x FnF missiles on the Typhoon could be a tad OP.

That is the IOG (Intertial onboard guidance, if I remember correctly) essentially it just heads in the rough area its told too. But is disabled when the laser is activated and doesnt re-enable if the laser is deactivate

I mean, its gaijins stated issue. Theres ways around it such as my Barracuda MCS proposal, and multispectral smoke. Its also a bit of a debatable point imo. Tanks dont have radars to warn them of incoming PGM’s, and unless they spot the smoke trail and correctly deduce the PGM is coming at them specifically, its unlikely they’ll react on time for smoke to save them…

Yes, however… it would be funny

Yeah, 99% of the time, people wouldnt smoke or react even if they had a defence.

Yeah, it would :D

Especially if it got its [mode 3] lock-on-after-launch mode.

Brimstone modes of operation

Essentially, the Brimstones can be pre-programmed with a set of targets and then fired into a general area, they will use their on-board radars to search for and find said targets, communicating with each other to take out a target each. On-approach they’ll aim for the weakest spot on the target. Meaning you could fire a volley from behind a hill or at tree-top level and just wipe out the enemy team.

Looks a little like this;

Theres a video some non-defined amount of time ago, somewhere non-descript where a column of an undefined nations tanks get smaked all near simultaneously which iirc was attributed to ground launched Brimstones. Was a beauty to see.

Its not really flying to the target point, its just using IOG to fly in the rough direction of the target point, which is fine as you laser guide it in for the terminal part of its flight (so it will correct its path)

Is there any news on Brimstones getting proxy fuse?

thats a lil bit different from the yak141 dont you think
