Well yeah, when IRIS-T was made available a few years after Typhoons first went into service it made sense.
Now getting War Thunder’s flare code to make IRIS-T acknowledge flares realistically… that’s necessary before adding them or it’s like giving 9Ls to the F9F8 Cougar.
its always gonna kinda be like that with imaging seeker missiles. thats why we’re probably gonna be stuck with 9Ms for a while (which also got plenty of upgrades, up to like M-10 or whatever)
but when iris t and meteor come eurofighter will be up with the best fffighters
so the german eurofighter is the shittiest of all the 3 nations in war thunder that will get it. Wow thank you germany you fucking piece of shit i believed in your government and your military tech.
Dude… chill it’s not that deep.
Again the Eurofighter in general will be the most meta aircraft I can think of for war thunder.
Secondly as this entire thread seems to revolve around, there is one Eurofighter owned by Airbus and registered in Germany which has all the cool features the UK and Italy bought and put on their production Typhoons in addition to the AMK kit extra.
Thirdly, like its an IRST system, an LWS and that’s it.
All Eurofighters can use all weaponry and systems that have been integrated with a software update and maybe a switch of rail, and Gaijin has already said that weaponry is subject to balance. The UK uses AIM-120 C-5 and AIM-120D so its probably integrated onto Eurofighter, so if Gaijin want to give it to German Eurofighters they can do as it is subject again to balance.
Early Eurofighters will all have the same loadout of AIM-120B and AIM-9Li/M anyway (in-game basically the same thing) considering Rafale will have MICA and Magic 2 to start with I think that’s a pretty good scenario for us as it will be the same armament as the rest of NATO’s aircraft.
AFAIK with war power and clean on min-fuel (30% fuel) it will have the highest T/W ratio in-game factoring in-channel loss its even better, it will be good irregardless of having IRIS-T and Meteor.
either way as well like i said early but which @Misty_wt seems to ignore. Gajin plenty of times gave aircraft armament they didnt use in service as an interrim like UK gripen skyflash and etc.
Gajin will make sure the EFTs arew equal in weaponry
Pretty much particularly as like on Gripen these missiles are integrated across all the aircraft.
EF’s will be equal as far as they can be, though I don’t expect Gaijin to mix and match with ASRAAM and IRIS-T.
that not, but those are seen as pretty much equal in the first palce, his big worry is the step in between amraam to meteor
UK uses C-5 and D, Spain uses C-8. We are covered imo.
Germany not getting its own missiles. But Sweden does. As usual. As if the F-4F Ice couldn’t use any imaginable buff.
I’m going to secure the Eurofighter eventually by grinding either Italy, Germany or Great Britain. Do you guys know which nation has the best Eurofighter?
I’d like to avoid another situation like where I grinded Israel to secure the F15 which ended up being the only one without TWS or HMD.

So i’m gonna do a brief breakdown of the key points where they differ.
- They all fly the same
- They have the same ARH missiles (due to balance)
- The UK uses a missile called ASRAAM, its like an R24ET with mega IRCCM, whereas Italy and Germany use IRIS-T which im sure you already know about as sweden uses it but its like a SRAAM that had a lovechild with an R73 and then put the baby on meth and steroids
- The UK and Italy use the PIRATE IRST in service, this is like a bigger, better version of the Gripens SKYWARD-G IRST (Skyward-G is based on pirate). However Airbus Germany has 1 testing aircraft that Gaijin might use to questionably give Germany PIRATE (IPA7)
- The UK is the only in-game nation that uses the LWS, LWS is useful as basically every IRST but the one of EF and Gripen use a laser to rangefind people so the UK ones will get an alert.
- Gaijin can use the prior test aircraft IPA7 to give Germany something called AMK kit, this gives it gripen e-esque leading edge and trailing edge extensions and increase maneuverability substantially.
- There is a TVC kit that was developed but never actually used made by Germanys MTU and Spains ITP (with a little bit of help from rolls royce) currently germany may be able to get it as a non-historical addition.
I’ll let you make up your own mind.
efts pretty much will mostly perform equal in all nations
There is small differences but they are all debatable and dont impact as much
Uk uniquely has LWS if that sth you are intrested, but for grb the UK tree is just so horrendous i would advice against it.
Germany is debatbale if it gets IRST, thats a pure gajin choice. But honestly i think thats more of a SIM thing either way as well
That being said germany has the possibility for the AMK kit which makes it even more agile.
Italy doesnt have anything unique realy i would say
The big differences honestly will be the IR missle choice Asraam or IRIS-T
ASRAAM is medium range IR missle super strong
Whiile the IRIS-T is a deadly short range missle which goes bonkers
On another note, HMS on the first variants (afaik the UK and Italy might get it (iirc striker 1 was 2005)) but what about Germany as far as i know the German HMS was a bit delayed?
Lets be fair its 2 you forgot the IPA 8
they got installed on the trance 1 either way even if delayed dont think its an issue
IPA 2 tested Pirate also? probably just forgot that one, my bad
There are two testing aircraft experimentally fitted with it
my bad ipa 8
Yeah MB forgot that one.
