There’s zero reason to nerf the Typhoon.
In BVR the first Typhoon [and potentially second] is identical to F-15C MSIP II [which is itself a “gen 4.5” aircraft].
And WVR, it’s going to be using 9Ms, or for Britain maybe ASRAAM if they’re R-73 equivalent in IRCCM on the best dogfighting platform. With later versions using more advanced missiles since that’s how Gaijin [correctly] does things for balance.
People make a lot of claims about Typhoon I heard about F-15C, and when I scrutinize those claims as I have with F-15C, I see a capable aircraft that isn’t a Wunderwaffe.
Yes, it is strong, so is every other non-stealth twin-engined fighter NATO nations are using.
Yes, Typhoon is one of the best WVR aircraft in the world.
It’s just not going to change the meta at this stage. Especially since radar missiles are becoming stock missiles.
Arguments I’ve heard so far and refuted by many, not just myself.
“IRST will make it OP!” Su-27 had IRST since introduction and not a single person mentioned it as a serious tactic in air RB for its entire existence in War Thunder.
“This missile above and beyond AIM-120 and 9M will make it OP!” Won’t be on the first one introduced.
“Its electronic warfare capabilities will make it OP!” Others have these features IRL as well. Not implemented currently. Potentially requires a game engine upgrade.
“It has AESA!” Tranche 3 does, as well as the equivalents Britain and Italy are likely using. The first one uses a mechanical PD radar. A good one, at least as good as the ones USA used.
“WVR it’ll be OP!” Sure, if people dogfight with us, and they don’t have friends around. Just like Gripen and F-16A are “OP” WVR currently.
So to reiterate, I am not discounting the good of Typhoon Tranche 1, and other-nation equivalents.
I am merely assessing an aircraft for a game whose meta is boom and zoom, and BVR currently.
I love the Typhoon, I love the Rafale, I love the F-15. I want Typhoon at least as much as everyone in this topic.
And one thing WE ALL can agree on is our love of Typhoon.

Absolutely not, if gaijin ever releases a typhoon as a premium i don’t think i will have the strength to keep playing, I have been waiting literally years for one to come and hope they can overlook the profit to incentivise new players into actually grinding for the top tier instead of buying themselves virtually to the top (mainly in ground atm but this will creep to aircraft in the future)
Testing and development ones do yes I don’t think you’ll find a picture of a German Eurofighter without 98-03 or 98-07 on it as in IPA3 and IPA7 (maybe an ISP or DA that I don’t remember), but no Eurofighters used in regular Luftwaffe service have the PIRATE IRST.
Gaijin could give it to Germany similarly they could give them AMK Kit if they wanted to using the excuse of IPA7 and IPA3, but that means any nation with a Eurofighter that ever tested anything could get that thing, even if it’s not used in service.
Gaijin will do what they want as @x_Shini hinted.
Dont get me wrong, not a a single Premium and thats it, but like one of the first EF Premium and then a slightly better as TT
The Austrian one is the absolute worst one and most likely one to be assigned to Germany (with Spain going to Italy and the UK getting one of the Middle Eastern ones).
Still, why grind for something when you can wait 6 months for it to come as a premium, this just isn’t a rewarding system and would really add a sour taste for the years of research and begging that me and the people on this forum have conducted
Plus premiums should be used for grinding, not being as capable as the last patches’ meta so i believe a rank 8 german premium should be a phantom or mig variant, anything but a typhoon
I agree I wouldn’t like to see any of them be premium of events, but i’d be lying if i couldn’t see it coming.
5th gens will likely have their own rank (as boring as it will be for most European nations having the same plane with the same missiles and probably no Meteor.)

Yeah, sometimes they do it, sometimes they don’t. Though Gripen fullfills top tier CAS for most of its respective nations also.
It’s entirely based on what they want to do.
It’s the only Eurofighter that makes sense for Italy to get. Germany getting Austria is a given
The UK would get the middle eastern ones (Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi) as BAE does all the marketing for outside of Europe on Eurofighter, and the Eurofighter is designed from the UK side with the middle east in-mind as a carry-over from P.110.
Then that leaves Spain which is the only option left, and also is the only one in-game that makes sense.
This is obviously all dependant on if they introduce Eurofighter premiums, I am of the view they shouldn’t as it cheapens the last European fighter in the European trees. F-35 is at best for the UK a collaboration that feels 1-sided.

Why would they get 4 premium EFTs? That aside, Qatari one could be given to Germany due to them also having the Leopard 2A7Q, so there’s a link, albeit a weak one.
where is that from? havent seen an indication that t4+/t5 will have that
