FCS was design for a 10 missile load of 4 AMRAAM + 6 SRAAM
You got any source on that? Cuz thats highly questionable on a fighter literally designed for optimizing BVR performance…
This chart indicates the double IR pylons are also possible, and a load of 6/6 is possible as well:
Interestingly, if this chart is to be believed, the wet pylon is rated for any weapons BUT AAM’s, which would be… odd…
14 meteor + 2 IR missiles also seems the most intriguing air to air load, both because its massive overkill, but also because it hints at double pylons for BVRAAM’s, on all but the dedicated IR wingtip stations. Both things we havent actually seen on any images afaik (therefore unlilely to come, but still interesting as theoretically there should be anything but cost and practicality during low intensity conflicts stopping it)
Been a while since I poked my head in this thread and I see a lot of thread derail from certain people claiming things about the eurofighter to paint it in a bad light without anything to back it up 🤣
wdym
whats ur source that its not possible
ALARM is also a bit odd to have on there, because if I remember from Flame or Gunjob, ALARM was never integrated, although it was planned
ALARM was planned, and can be seen fitted to DA2 in a few photos, but got retired from the RAF before it could see service on Eurofighter.
Skyflash/Aspide should be the give away this is not very reliable. ECR-90 doesn’t have the ability to illuminate for those missiles.
I’ve never seen any indication the inner wing pylons can carry missiles, mainly due to space.
Sorry should have indicated the fact it can also do 6 + 2, I don’t think the dual pylon can be used for amraam.
This document indicates it can carry missiles (in this case ARM’s). Idk why thered be a space constrain on the inner wing pylon when we know it carries LGB’s there as well…
i didnt say it was not possible
Missiles extend further backwards… and landing gear need to umm, operate.
look again, they weapon stations mount weapons far forward on them (compare the AMRAAM in this pic to the IRIS-T and the AMRAAM’s furthest point back reaches about 1/3rd from the end of the fins on the IRIS-T):
Now compare it to the placement of bombs and you’ll notice its about the same position:
There shouldn’t be any interference with the landing gears. Imo those rails are far enough forward not to interfere with landing gears.
Btw found an EF with Aim9 on inner wing pylon (not)
Spoiler

Arent those paveways?
ya
mh might be
Assuming any of these claims of which pylon can have what are correct… Will gaijin even allow it? So far the 2000-5F Mirage is the only one with 4x magic 2 for example. The MiG-29 series is being withheld the R-73 and yet also given R-27ER. I guess any discussion on load outs is more or less not relevant unless it is supported by images and documentation and even then… Best to wait and see and if there is more to add it can be put forth in a suggestion.
Y’all will need to gather all the necessary sources and pre-ready a suggestion in that case.
Cool image. That’s the first time I’ve seen ALARM on an in flight Eurofighter.
