Here you can see the difference in the example of the center fuselage Station. Real pylon vs tank. A real pylon also has sway braces which a drop tank clearly does’t have.
Here you can see all differences of a pylon to tank:
The Eurofighter weapon system is the German Air Force’s primary capability for airborne air defense and offensive operations. As part of the necessary capability enhancement of the Eurofighter, the German Bundestag approved the installation of a state-of-the-art AESA radar system on the German Eurofighter combat aircraft on June 17, 2020.
To achieve the urgently needed capability upgrade for the German Eurofighter fleet in the area of sensor technology, HENSOLDT has now been commissioned as the responsible developer and manufacturer of the radar system. Installation into the German fleet will take place at Airbus Defence and Space.
The basis for the now-approved development of the ECRS (Eurofighter Common Radar System) Mk1 is the CAPTOR-E Mk0 radar system from the Euroradar consortium, which is currently in production and being delivered to Kuwait. While this system already features electronically scanned beam steering and thus superior detection and tracking capabilities compared to its mechanically scanned predecessor, CAPTOR-M, the ECRS Mk1 will receive significantly enhanced reconnaissance and fire control capabilities. As a key national technology and the central sensor of the Eurofighter, the new radar is therefore of particular importance.
All Eurofighters of the German Air Force are expected to receive the German-developed and built radar (either the Mk0 or Mk1 version) starting in 2023 as part of a retrofit program and planned maintenance measures. The program is being carried out in close cooperation with Spain, where the Eurofighter fleet is also to be retrofitted and modernized accordingly.
To equip the German Eurofighters with the operationally essential E-Scan capabilities (E-Scan = electronic beam steering) as early as possible, deliveries of Mk0 radars will begin as part of the “Early Embodyment” program, likely starting in 2023. These Mk0 radars will later be upgraded to the Mk1 standard during planned maintenance.
Without a doubt, but the absence of these weapons you just mentioned is illogical, so if they didn’t add them, wouldn’t it have made sense to add at least functional weapons? They told them that the Brimstones were too powerful and that’s why they made them lasers. Bombs aside, we don’t currently have any effective autonomous air-to-surface missiles on any Eurofighter for an aircraft that is at the highest BR.
