You did that? Good, lets not let them rest!
Yup, i have a lot of clips of my Elde struggling lol.
Heres me dodging a missile as fast as possible.
For Gaijin tracks has no grip reason why some tanks just drifts and wheeled vehicles no torque and wheels made out of butter in solid terrain, reason why most vehicles struggles in minimal incline thanks to stuff like these:
This is only part of the problem. Gaijin didn’t model the Elde correctly at all. The hydraulics irl turn the back half with the front at the same time and the rear should be able to provide power via them turning with the drive train but the snail modeled it as a basic trailer so the vehicle fails to do even the most basic movements. This vehicle needed far more time on the dev to be worked on correctly.
All four tracks should be powered, as in real life. In War Thunder the back unit just acts like a trailer as Pheonix RX0@live said. I have only operated several variants of the BV206 but the BvS10 (BV410) is more powerful in every way, and a BV that acts like in War Thunder would be taken to the mechanics for repair right away.
It is clearly not working as intended, unless it was intended to not work properly from the beginning.
Problem boils down to essentially: We don’t have that game mechanic implemented
I don’t really see Gaijin fixing this until a 2nd nation gets a similar vehicle
Simple just replace the Elde with RBS 23, admit that the Elde was a bad choice (not gonna happen)
More missiles, better range and higher velocity?
Think about the poor CAS users :(
Im gonna post these so people can see what some maps with slight hills look like for a spaded Elde.
My suggestion for this vehicle as staff has stated the game engine cant handle the Elde’s implementation will be focused on giving the Elde some form of usability, as this is the only forum talking about the Elde any additional comments from people who actually have this thing would be appreciated considering im fully expecting people to scream Bedish Swias when trying to suggest features to make this thing less of a parasite on your team if you have someone in it and more of a usable somewhat functional SPAA.
Ammo
The Elde currently has 4 missiles loaded with none in reserve. This creates a problem as the vehicle simply lacks the capacity to focus on ground munitions like KH-38MT and such and to attack aircraft. With the addition of the ammo box the Elde gets another 4 missiles. Once the ammo box is used up it cannot be resupplied until the Elde is dragged to a cap point. My solution is to give the Elde 24 missiles in its resupply box or to give it 20 missiles and allow it to have 4 missiles it can carry alongside its already 4 allowing for the vehicle to begin reload immediately. This allows the vehicle to feature similar ammo capacity of other vehicles which get access to 2 ammo boxs, one per vehicle.
Reload
The current Reload for the Elde is 15s when spaded, this does not include the ready time needed when reloading a full missing rack. My Suggestion for this is to bring the Elde to a closer rate of fire (if kept at 12.0) to better match its compatriots, reduce the reload to 5 seconds for the first 12 missiles then include a 15 second reload for the missiles after that and then return it to the 5 second reload. Additionally remove the missile ready time entirely.
BR
At 12.0 the Elde is lacking in nearly every regard to other SPAA and more closely fits the role of an 11.3 spaa, why simple in its current state it is unable to get ammo from cap points and move at a consistent speed and control as any other spaa and struggles to use its radar. Do to the short nature of it it means the Elde needs to be up higher than most other spaa and thus it needs mobility, it lacks the mobility so its a paradox. The vehicle as it stands now would better suit being an 11.3 for the time with it and the Ito swapping places or for it to be foldered with the Ito 90M.
Radar
The Radar on the Elde is currently underperforming in range,

Additionally being short as the Elde as mentioned above leads to some unique issues, on some maps you simply cannot defend your team unless you drive into a open area as basic small debris can block your radar which is required to fire on targets, this puts the Elde at a weird point as it lacks the ability to escape when an opponent spots you. If you don’t die on the first hit you lack the mobility to get away even with smoke. This cant really be helped but i figured it was worth mentioning as you may see Elde trying to get to unorthodox spots to try and defend the team.
Mobility
Where do i even begin, as you might have seen above i have a abundance of footage of the Elde and its…mobility if you can call it that, first off i beg you If you see a friendly Elde struggling to get out of spawn or in any terrain please help them, trust me its demoralizing enough to have to beg in chat when my trailer decides to be Australian for the match and flip upside and now i cant move but its even worse to get stuck on a small item and need to beg in chat for someone to help me so please if you see an Elde just try and nudge them free.
Back to the problems the trailer lacks its powered tracks, in game the tracks do move even if the front vehicle is suspended in air, but the tracks do not actually provide mobility. This causes problems as this means it treats the vehicle like a trailer rather than its other half, this is the sole reason turning is so difficult. Additionally driving in a straight line is nearly impossible if you try to do any micro correction to your course as the trailer begins to fishtail the whole vehicle causing you to spin out, this can make simple movements and in a case where an enemy is chasing you to be incredibly frustrating.
My solution to this as a temporary fix is to disable collision on the trailer, this allows players to back up with less problems as you can very easily get stuck, this also prevents the vehicle from being stuck on the trailer when it hits a slight bump which is a common problem, the vehicle should be guven some additional support to prevent flipping after this as it will inevitably flip as the front is so small. Traction now needs to be increased by an indescribable amount to match its irl performance or to make it able to climb hills that are at 12°, this should help the Elde move around most maps where they are limited by needing to stay on roads for traction.
Lastly for now if you disagree with anything I’ve said here or wish to add your own solution please say so, I am available for getting any videos people need if they still dont believe anything they’ve just read or if they just want to see the Elde in most situations.
I have the radar range, as well as number of TWS targets under my passed report

It was not actioned yet, so there is hope
Appreciate the link, i hadn’t seen this one
Yea, not surprised. I report radars per their name, not per vehicle, so it’s not that easy to find them unless you specifically look for them.
This is awful actually, if they cant properly model a trailer with power transmission they shouldnt have added it in the first place. Thats like adding wheeled vehicles without modelling wheels, sorry youll just have to stay where you are. Do they want us to spawn in and stay in the spawnpoint?
Yes
