EldE 98: Missile Trolley

Me knowing it will be made irrelevant as gaijin adds even longer range CAS options this patch (fuck it were launching ASHM’s at tanks now)

Well, not only that. XENTA is a CW radar.

what advantages does that bring

Tbh, idk. I have not dived into that.

any one that has its own radar ?

I think kh38mt slingers will still outrange any nato spaa including this one so its going to be not relevant even without adding new weapons.
Also judging by ir missiles performance against agms it might be even less useful than crotale which is capable of shooting some kh38mt down.

this thing has speed and smokes though, and the radar should be able to easily detect the kh38s comming in

gaijin already confirmed they are working on multiple chassis SAM sites, so it shouldn’t be a cause for concern

VT-1 could also potentially be buffed to 16 clicks

eventually perhaps, and source ?

For everyone saying IIR missiles are unflarable, this is incorrect.

They are still susceptible to Volumetric and Kinematic flares.

The first kind is already ingame, with BOL being a volumetric flare that can completely obscure the target aircraft, and is actually pretty effective at spoofing the image of a target aircraft.

The second, Kinematic, is like a volumetric flare with a little rocket motor to put more distance between the target and the decoy.

From there, the missile will still continue on its course through IOG, but that is no different than what the AIM-9M already does.

TLDR: depending on implementation, NO, this does not necessarily become an unavoidable missile.

just ignoring for now xD

Smokes are neat thing. But even if you could lock on missile with radar your missile wont lock it

While it is in game, its implementation is very poor

note the potentially

Thales made the miracle happen : same source contradicting each other :

You’re right, it’s 15 indeed, not 16 (not that it matters much tbh, it’s still a fair increment over 12)

Like the NOMADS (also a .50 hehehe)

Sorry, last time I do this joke.

I agree, but people simplifying it down to ‘hurr-durr IIR equals no miss’ is just not even close to reality
