EldE 98: Missile Trolley

The thread on the aio that passed to the devs says 8

Apparently the SLM launchers can also carry SLS
Also, iirc the teased chinese SAM has like 17km range tops

its what it is bro atleast we should be happy that we most likely could recive one of the best SPAA out there.

Balance, man, the EldE has four, Gaijin probably will say ‘they can’t get something better, let’s give them 4’.

It definitely has 20km range. The ADATS doesn’t hit 10km either when the target maneuvers, same goes for the VT-1 and its 12km of range.
That doesn’t negate the fact that the missiles have 20km of range while the rest of the world struggles to deal with targets within 10km of range.

i said 4 to 8 because you can see some Spyders with single rack of 4 to double rack of 4 being a total of 8 missiles.

If you are hit from 20km away, that’s a you issue. Maybe don’t fly in a straight line. Also, I’ve tested this with a friend of mine (we both have Pantsirs), our average hit is from 9-12km, with advance manoeuvring being down in the 9km area.

Pantsir isn’t some death bubble machine unlike the IR SAMs (Type 81) even below 10km.

So 4 lunchers will just be empty?
They will nerf it by giving it only p5 or smt

Its peper spaa but they can add david sling tho

that doesnt even exist yet it just a render and there is a scale mockup that was revealed in the paris air show in 2019.

Did I call it a death bubble? Just from a stats perspective alone it is beyond stupid to let one nation attack aircraft at up to 20km range while the rest only gets to attack aircraft at a range between 10km and 12km of range.
All SAMs lose range when the target maneuvers, the Pantsir still has more range in that case though.

Spoiler

Not to forget that the Pantsir acts as a CIWS as well and carries more missiles than any other SAM at top tier

Wait i just saw that
Is that new?

Ah but its probably needs a radar vehicle next to it

Cool, so it still has more range against maneuvering targets than the rest of the world.

I can reliably take out planes at 12km with an ItO and a HQ-17. But please, keep crying about a literal semi truck.

You’re fixated on the wrong stat.
Just because Roland has 10km of maximum range, it doesn’t mean it’ll hit anything that far out.

the difference between both is that one needs a radar to operate and the other one dont.

Right, the wrong stat, when most CAS outranges our SAMs

That’s not necessarily the case, the missiles seeker view can theoretically be fed through to a monitor in the vehicle that then uses it as a electro optical seeker to find targets (the missile wouldn’t do any computing and only send the video as a passthrough).

So compare to the aim-9x seeker (just for illustrative purposes) that sees this (top left corner is what the seeker sees):

So there is obviously a way to send that video to an outside source in some way, an outside source that can then do all the processing of the video feed to find IR targets.

The radar would be the best option for obvious reasons, but purely theoretically it can be done (how do you think early tv and IR AGM’s were locked onto a target?).
