Germany already has a lot of captured equipment, same with the Soviets. If any Nation needs something to compensate, it would probably be the US. There’s a lot of History there as well since the 83rd actually used a lot of the captured equipment as well.
I don’t mind these vehicles as Events, but I really don’t think they should be standard premiums or Tech Tree.

Tanks of East-Germany aren’t captured tanks. They were either export tanks of the soviet-union or modified soviet tanks by East-Germany. They were part of the East-german military and should, imo, be added to the game.

I’m aware of that, but let’s try to make them more unique additions for tech trees like Germany.
For example, the Modifications of the T-55 or T-72 that Germany operated would be great.

We absolutely do need a T-34/85. The T-34/76 doesn’t have a large enough gun to mess with the Russians plus many more modern tanks have composite or ERA now so we need something larger, T-54/55’s are still too competitive for it to be amusing.
Precisely, we need options to build a proper lineup.
You have the Tiger and Panther tanks. Those are far better.
better in certain areas… the 34, 54, 55 are better in other areas
Then ask for unique version of those that were modified in some way. That can be your ticket to a vehicle.
a lot of T-54s were modified for the GDR/DDR, but i dont think anyone would mind a T-34 in another TT just like no one would mind a Pz.IV in another TT
You don’t NEED a T-34. The German 5.0 to 6.0 Area is already extremely good. If there’s some Historical Merit, maybe, but that’s bad copy and paste.

oh defo agreed, its just that GDR/DDR history is a good thing to have represented in game, its kind of like a subtree but not.

If there’s a modified one, sure, but nothing exactly identical.
Grab a soviet tank, slap a GDR flag on top, and go role play as a GDR tanker.
The issue with that solution is Gaijin locked the GDR Flags to the German tech tree, so were stuck there at the moment.

East Germany had Modified T-34/85’s in the 1960’s, those things would be quite different from the current ones in the game so there is a real possibility as they could even be placed at a higher BR.
I already use those for the missing T-72’s, Waiting 5 years between vehicles is just not practical sometimes.
I think OP stands better chance of convincing Gaijin to approve a change to decal applying rules than adding a new tech tree.
In practical terms probably. But since there are a sizeable amount of aircraft now along with boats and three ground vehicles greater ambitions are at play.
