the 20/22 people claim come from the original renders of the aircraft having both the AMBER rack which would turn 5 pylons on the belly of the aircraft into 2 120 mounts each, as well as the 4x rack on both of the 1 and 9 stations (outer wing pylons) which would bring it up to (a theoretical) 20-22 as people are presuming the AMBERs have been put into service, but just because it hasn’t been tested doesn’t mean it wont happen (saying this just for those who cope), as we currently have the 4x racks on the F-15C the EXs should at least be 16 upon launch and it wasn’t until a month or 2 ago did the EXs from the 123rd test the F-15EXs with live bombs so its safe to assume, that the 2 extra missiles per pylon isn’t high priority for now as its already proved its capability for AMRAAMs now it just needs to do the rest of the ordnance before circling back around to more AMRAAMs

oh but when sweeden gets like 3 tanks equivalent to the German Leo2A8 you will see nobody complain.

edit: people get mad at Germany because we dare get 1 new tank, yet they turn the blind eye towards sweeden that has THREE!!! 3!!!
