Douglas AIR-2 Genie Nuclear Short Range Rocket

-1 unless part of an event (a lower tier Nuclear Escalation, for instance, with groups of AI bombers could make this feasible).

I highly Agree for the additions of the Genie 2!

An awesome Rocket that can add a nice touch for the F104!

+1

+1 could give the F-106 a better weapon than its impact fuse AIM-4s. Also could give F-101 secondary ordinace

Only the F-101B

Oh so not the one in game

Indeed

Don’t forget Avro Arrow was supposed to operate them

They could be added by Avro Arrow going to UK.

Though one wonders if Genie could be used in the ground attack role.

Actually yes, it have some kind of Ballistic calculator for the Nuclear genie 2 specifically made for Engaging aerial targets, by using a decoy drone or a vehicle to calculate the distance of the target ( by using the plane radar ) u can estimate the impact distance to the radar locked plane and launch the Genie 2 on it. so it can explode near ground.

And the other way is just to Calculate distance via map ( Since Possibly the genie 2 will not be proximity fuse and will be pre set distance fuse gaijin could make an exception and extend the Fuse to like 10km Possibly? ), that would allow for some what of nuclear indirect fire, TACTICAL NUKE INCOMING.

Gaijin would have to be carful with this as detonating a mini nuke over the map would have balance issues (basically a nuclear rocket) Though if you lob it into the ground the rocket should just shatter and no detonation as it uses basically a time fuse.

Actually since the rocket has Time delay fuse, the rocket will impact the ground, after a certain amount of time it will detonate ( or add the chance mechanism where 50 it will explode after that time\ 50 it wont explode after that time due to sheer impact ), but even that, the rocket will lose like 50 percent of its energy at the ground.

And its also possible gaijin will allow it in GRB but at cost of spawn point, like making it 1000 SP to spawn or smth.

Fun fact: some calculated specifications of AIR 2 Genie:

  • Explosive Yield: 1.5 kilotons (1,500 tons of TNT).
  • Lethal Destruction Radius (vs. aircraft): 300 meters (1,000 ft) – guaranteed kill zone.
  • Blast Overpressure Radius (5 psi): ~900 meters – destroys buildings.
  • Fragmentation Dispersion: Effectively limited to the 300m lethal zone (casing vaporizes and blasts outward).
  • Penetration (ground burst hypothetical): Not designed for it, but would create a crater 30–50m wide and 10–15m deep .

How is it not game breaking? Imagine if the S-21 went mach 3 and exploded in a 1km+ death sphere basically, for special game modes sure but not in air rb, ESPECIALLY not at 9.3…

We would also need to calculate EMP and radiation effects on electronics your radar wont enjoy eating all that up.

Because it would be a gimmick addition that will be slapped with restrictions.

I doubt it will come in normal Air RB mode. It has a place in Nuclear Thunder at lower SP to equip, though.

Perhaps in Ground Battles, too. Just make the rocket cost 2,500 SP to equip. But if the rocket hits the ground before it’s programmed to destruct, nothing will happen.

Holy peak, lightning my beloved

Also, just remembered I found this at an air museum

Very risky addition, maybe add a ban for tank/naval battles and then add it?

The fleet going up when Genie detonates

S21 rocket does have delay fuse, and Mach 2.0 speed…

Its not really that gamebreaking at 9.3 considering how this plane has no flare or chaff and absolutely horrible power management during dogfight ( Its interceptor ).

And the AIR 2 genie does not have 1km destruction range, the Assured range of destruction is approximate 300m, and the fragmentation dispersion is longer than that, but it wont kill u just will damage the airframe and its components.

My answer for you in my previous reply: ( Actually since the rocket has Time delay fuse, the rocket will impact the ground, after a certain amount of time it will detonate ( or add the chance mechanism where 50 it will explode after that time\ 50 it wont explode after that time due to sheer impact ), but even that, the rocket will lose like 50 percent of its energy at the ground.
