Douglas A-4 Skyhawk - History, Performance, and Discussion

I shall, once I actually get them lol. I’m waiting on the seller to send them.

So, with digging through both manuals, I haven’t found much that’s new. Mostly just confirmation the A-4M could definitely carry at least two Sidewinders, and up to three AGM-62 Walleyes. There’s also a little more clarification on things such as the CMs dispensers (going from ALE-29s to ALE-39s with the mid-life/late model), as well as a better look at the new throttle grip. I’ll dig through more, and see what else I could find (as well as grabbing screenshots).

Some really nice A-4M photos

It seems as though unfortunately, this may be it for the A-4M (at least the one found in the files years ago) being added to the game…

That really sucks if that’s actually true.

Looks like only Israel gets the best version/variant of the American A-4 Skyhawk added to their tree exclusively.

The AH-56 Cheyenne, which had been sitting in the files for years, being added in the next update, raised my hopes that the A-4M would be added as well.

There is still a chance that Smin was only telling me not to get my hopes up for this and the next patch.

Plus that A-4M model was pretty old, and only represents like a 1974-ish A-4M (pre-HUD, ALR-45F, ARBS, etc), so there’s always a chance Gaijin could commission a late 70s version in the future (or have the old model modified to those standards).

One day… one day it’ll be added…

not to mention the F-4 for ground attack

So I recently dug through the OA-4M NATOPS, and found it was fully capable of using Sidewinder, Shrike, and Walleye (on top of Mk 80 series bombs and FFARs (mighty mouse and Zuni). It also has the ALR-45C RWR and ALE-39 Chaff/Flare Dispensers, meaning it could easily be added in-game.

Very fascinating

Gaijin really should add both it and the standard A-4M (or at least the Super Mike version of it)

That’s pretty awesome, thank you for sharing!

The MARINE text must be for demonstrating a Belgian livery, as the USMC uses “MARINES”.
