@Smin1080p_WT When exact values are classified, how does Gaijin determine when an armor improvement can be represented in-game, and why are some modern vehicles modeled with inferred values while SEPv3 reports appear to require quantitative data?
“Turret and hull armor upgrades”
Does not say what exactly could be improved, it could be the armor
What the hell is this logic
Normal logic?
If for example they have a new insert on the back of the armor arrays that significantly reduces spalling or a new design to turret DU plates that significantly reduces the amount of leaked radiation if penetrated, those could also be “armor upgrades for enhanced crew survivability” . Those would however not increase the effective armor thickness in relation to KE/CE threats.
Many words and sentences can be read in more than one way, and if there is no clear definitive singular way to read it then there is not really a concrete way for the developers to know what to change.
If we dont know whats in the tank why was it added in missing something we know is there but cant confirm the exact locaton of? Why not just add the test bed with the weighted plates or something at that point?
I see spall liner making sense, assuming it’s built into the armor itself rather than added on the inside
But how exactly does anti-radiation work in this context?
That’s a fair ask in my personal opinion, not sure if that would be something the dev’s would consider (but prototyped/tested things have been added to other vehicles previously so it’s not unreasonable to ask at least). Best ask the Community Managers for that one though.
Just as an of the top of my head guess/logic thing would be to add some type of lead layered plates/liners (or something else that hinders radiation from traveling through it), not as part of the armor plates but placed further in closer to the crew, the radiation that spreads from a hole in the DU plate doesn’t all travel in a straight line so the parts of it that goes out at angles would be stopped at the anti-radiation plate/liner and not go through the “next hole” that is in that plate/liner as it would if it was placed in contact with the plate.
Not sure if i explained that well enough :P
