I think Gaijin is attempting to make Great Britain into a commonwealth tree, so that’s why Indian vehicles are going there.

They honestly don’t. It’s just that many players were confused and surprised when the T-90S Bhisma (a Russian MBT) was first added to the game for Britain which is a NATO country and also had many different Challenger 2 variants that could have been added instead. Smin1080p explained it being part of an Indian sub-tech tree. Now that the Indian MiG-21 Bison and Osa-AK for the Firebirds Major Update are added it’s pretty much a braindead confirmation that India is an official sub-tech tree to it now at the moment.

A chunk of us “british players” are getting tired of the constant “challenger with a slight twist” memes though. Its even more redic then the leopard 2 spam trope.
While the Bhisma was a very odd choice, it did have a lot of Indian influence in its development also as at the time they were still having issues developing their own MBTs (like, the entire power train and turret were completely replaced iirc under Indian requirements and design requests). Other vehicles might have made a better initial addition, especially going into the TT, even if 50/50 like the EX Tank. Heck an upgraded Vijayanta with LRF or composite armour might have been a good shout too, giving a different addition vs chieftain/challenger, but oh well.
Personally I was glad to finally see “not a challenger tank” lol.

India is Israel’s largest client for military equipment sales, and Israel is India’s second-largest supplier of military equipment.
India has too many thing that you can’t fill them all in UK tree.and UK tree also need space for stuff from real alliances like Canada/Australia.
Israel don’t have much options for a subtree,and it truly quite empty and need a huge india sub tree.
Although gaijin had made their mind,I still believe that the Israel tree is a better choice than UK tree
