Discrepencies in HVAP munitions?

So, I’ve been testing out the HVAP belts I currently have access to, and the results have been… inconsistent, to say the least. Some HVAP belts feel completely useless, while others perform way better than expected. Here’s my experience so far, ranked worst to best relative to their tier performance.

Oerlikon GK / Oerlikon KAD / GAI CO1
Honestly terrible. Shells shatter on anything angled more than ~30° about 80% of the time, regardless of armor thickness. Very inconsistent and unreliable.

Rh 202 DM43
By far the best performer, despite supposedly using the same HVAP as the Oerlikons. Why it’s so much stronger, I have no idea — but the difference is night and day.

Akan m/47D HVAP-T (Slrppj m/68)
Much more reliable than the Oerlikons against angled armor. Performs decently against light armored vehicles and, on rare occasions, can even punch through the upper front plate of a BMP-1/2. Interestingly, this shell is 0.02 kg heavier than the Oerlikon’s

Could that tiny mass difference be what boosts its performance so much?

HVAP seems to be a mystical creature in gaijin’s eyes.

Honestly no different than any other subcaliber or core munitions in warthunder, which gaijin seems to think are too dense to spall, but too fragile to penetrate armor and literally shatter.

Will admit HVAP gets some of the worst of it though, the 57mm penetration on 20mm HVAP is very misleading. I honestly find .50 cals doing better

Love the HVAP on the M53/59 (30-JPZSv-53/59).

Ever since they nerfed the hell out of HVAP I have killed more targets with the .50 coax of the leclercs than I have with the amx 30 series coax 20mm. And it’s not for a lack of trying. Even if you get a BMP side on and it’s not a perfect 90° you just get shell shattered simulator.

As noted above- its really wierd but i have found that the Akan m/47D Hvap for the Pbv 302 Bill has been really useful-? Much more than the Oerlikon, idk if the hizpano Hvap with the 0.02kg more mass really makes that much more of a difference?
