As for France, there is no ship stronger than Jean Bart, since it is the best of the Richelieu class.
So either it means the following announcement is a paper ship like Alsace, or a missile boat, since it’s historically the only thing that can follow.
In any case, it’s pretty sad to see the best-in-class ship be premium, all that could have been avoided with Clemenceau being premium instead imo

Not sth out of the ordinary. Not a single premium ship in war thunder is at the highest rank even if they are identical to the highest BR ship of the tec tree. For example the Lübeck and Köln. (Lübeck is not a pack vehicle tho)

Thats seems more like your interpretation of what was said than what actually was said as looking back at the Q&A, this ship having slightly different AA power wouldn’t go against what was said as the hull and the main guns are the same as the TT ofc if it did have more armour and bigger guns you could make that argument but as it doesnt and as already stated in the Dev blog and by the Dev its rank6 not rank 7 and not 8.7 in br. IMO

If they think that missile boats will be better than any battleship, Gaijin is seriously out of touch with anything that’s going on in naval. Before missile boats “can” be implemented the whole of naval needs a major rework in the tec trees, the maps and even the game mode itself.
To me this premium seems more like Gaijin saying that they are done with naval. They are closing in on the final battleships and they are now starting to cap the mode off with premiums of the most desirable ships.

Huh true, I completely forgot that coastal exists.
Still feels kinda weird to separate the ships like that but I guess Nagato is 8.3 and rank 6 as well so it’s not unique in that regard.

Because apart from that i can’t see what could be considered “better” or “more top tier worthy” than Jean-Bart

Never fired anything.
Never even mounted RADAR/IRST or RWR. It was “designed” to use some weapons, but never even mounted them.
So basically same as BAE EAP, but as always the goalposts got moved.

Yeah but on a technical matter nothing was made up since it’s just a US F-16 repainted. That’s far less dangerous for balance than something with made up armament, and also far more realistic since the plane itself existed and used these armaments. The Su-47 was never fitted with anything, arming it would be less accurate than a magic on a Cessna
