You mean the funky APS panels on the CRV2? Yeah those do nothing. Out of 14-something APS panels, only 2 of the front one actually trigger to shoot down munitions, the rest do nothing.

Schakal is being adopted in an IFV role for their new medium weight units.

Boxer SWaTrInf is being adopted along side in as a dedicated FSV for the new medium weight units, combining the 20mm Wiesel and tow Wiesel into one vehicle. Much like Ajax it’s not an infantry carrier, and has most of the infantry seating removed.

Luch 2 (Piranha IV 6x6) with a 25mm KBA cannon in the armed recce role.

TPz NG (Patria 6x6) with RS4s RWS as unarmed recce role.

From what I’ve read airborne units are sticking with Wiesel until a dedicated solution for their needs is manifested.

I’m not German, my German hasn’t been used in over two decades, and most of this is information I found when trying to figure out the choice of both Piranha IV 6x6 and Patria 6x6. So if anyone wants to fact check me I’d appreciate it, in fact I have a question for those more knowledgable: These Medium units, are they forming from the infantry or the armoured forces?

Vilkas is still better since the turret is unmanned. Unless they give it more spikes this is more like a worse Vilkas.
