Well the overall point is that some form of testing was done in order to advance the source stating 30G at 13km away. I guess a form of testing that would have sufficed would be to fire a MICA and having another player maneuver before impact once a certain launch condition have been found where the missile is around Mach 0.84 right before impact.
Not a lot of reports get shut down for faulty testing mind you, so long as there are relevant sources.
Should be kept in mind that there are primary sources stating greater than 80km for the MICA, interestingly another primary source found by Mulatu states the MICA has a greater than 50G maneuverability.
MICA with more than 50G and the 80km range and the Rafale can go piss off to 16.0 and fight itself.
Even with Typhoons Radar fixes and they are great nothing touches a MICA, nothing.
It would make the best jet and best (Meta) missile even better and increasing the range while retaining that lethal medium to short range would be very broken
there is a point at which more G pull will not significantly improve performance anymore because at close range / slower speeds the missile will not be able to pull 50Gs anyways
atleast imo it is very much a theoretical value which you will not realistically see ingame
or atleast i never had the issue of me not hitting a target because the Mica/ R-77/ r-73 didnt hit because they were lacking pull it was rather me launching them badly
yup, but soon, that won’t matter, because future missiles missiles can come back around after a miss to hit. not sure if mica can do this, but other missiles can.
Almost all missiles with enough manueverability and IOG should be able to do this but IOG in-game is bugged that prevents maneuverable missiles from performing this behavior on a consistent basis. If the target leaves the seeker’s gimbal for more than 3-5 seconds or so, it stops maneuvering.
AMRAAM is stated to have a 70km and can indeed achieve 70km of travelling distance in game
MICA is stated to have 80, but can only travel 50.
If we follow your definition and go by the “firing range on cooperative target” instead of the “travelled distance”, that means AMRAAM version A would be advertised with a 100-110km range, which is not the case
Well I think they’re not wrong actually, the missile couldn’t have reached the plane if it was stationary and only reached it because said plane was closing in. The missile did not travel 80 km here, much less and likely under 50. Saying this is correct would be assuming the 80 value represents the ability to hit a moving object with a specific speed and direction. This makes the value far less representative than if the “travel distance” is an actual absolute travel distance
Unless you can prove that the “travel distance” mentioned in documents isn’t actually what “travel distance” literally means, then he’s correct
it’s also to understand why the current way of saying MICA-EM is a 50km instead of 80km, while both the AIM-120 and R-77 are set to the advertised IRL values,…
Gaijin clearly mocks that and great Dual-Standard whenever a system is too good compared to US or Russian Systems (lil’ bias there,… but it’s similar to every french systems/crafts since gaijin introduced them, then Bug-reporter had to fight for years before getting things fixed,…).
i have an exemple of that being systematical,… back in the days, i made 2 bug-reports over the Etendard IVM, fully documented, using primary sources.
The bug-report was not accepted for 2.5 years after i made it (which was made about a year after Gaijin introduced Etendard IVM), and still took 6months to be implemented,…
What was it? the Gun radar ranging (as it was introduced,… but it should be a Gun radar Leading system), and CCIP for Bombs/Rockets/guns.
So let me be straight with you guys : i don’t think any top vehicules from France would be entirely fixed before 5 years from now.
AIM-120A/B are IRL advertised to travel a distance of 70-80km, and so in-game they have that posiibility.
MICA-EM are IRL advertised to travel same range of 70-80km, but only gets 50km max travel distance within game.
