Dassault Rafale - Variants, Characteristics, Armament and Performance

Yet Laser is possible to be used at night: not sure that kind of TV guidance would make it possible at night battles. (Which is the kinda the only difference in game)

The TV uses laser itself to provide targeting data. So it’s actually the LRF.

New datamine indicate New HMD mode for the Rafale.

Does anyone has info what it is ? Is it the range indicator?

Glad to see yours got passed, they said “But the developers decided not to add this mechanic at the moment.” to mine regarding it. But yours is also much better written than mine was. Heres to hoping we get it.

Rafale sales are high compared to Eurofighter, Gripen, F-18, but not compared to F-35 or something like J-7 variants.

Obviously, most countries that can afford it and are permitted to are purchasing F-35 over Rafale for the stealth capability and other improvements. Those that are not permitted to purchase F-35 or are concerned about maintenance requirements and other factors are going with Rafale. It is an appealing choice for countries that do not need a stealth fighter. I could say the J-7 is somehow better than the Rafale as it has considerably out-sold it in numbers and production in the same timeframe… but that would be the same stretch you are making about Rafale.

Well, they are also buying the F35 to be friends with US (aka Switzerland / Norway / Belgium / etc) lol

That doesn’t make sense because that would be a pre-requisite to being able to purchase the plane in the first place. Regardless, not the topic for that discussion.

Well, it does make pretty much sense since there were leaks showing the political pressure made by US on those decision makers. It’s very well documented.

But yes, off-topic.

Rafale can’t ever fly M1.4 without the burner.

It’s legit one of the selling point of the plane. Also this :

This isn’t a good source unfortunately

Still even if the source is not 100% reliable in game you can’t go above Mach 1.18(9000m) while full clean + low fuel. This is abnormal.

The issue is the speed limit from what i have heard

it’s unsettling how many CCs i see playing the rafale with full fuel + at least 2 fuel tanks underwing… it seems they don’t even know how to play that jet, and they aren’t stock so idk… maybe they GEd all the way in

btw 15’ of fuel? is it viable? i’m not safe bringing less than 20 lmao

I always carry full fuel on top tier jets for when I need to use full afterburner, however after seeing how fuel efficient the Typhoon is, I’m starting to doubt whether I need it.

typhoon and rafale are so much fuel efficient. the way they manage their autonomy is a lot similar to the gripen atm so the ideal setting (at least for me) it’s 20 + tank in RB, 30min in SIM without tank

the HMD is not live (because gajin forgot to put it on the plane) but its IR lock symbology
