Dassault Rafale - Variants, Characteristics, Armament and Performance

Why not?

Mm, good point

You can simply always just play the current Rafale with a 6 MICA loadout. Just because it can mount 8x MICA-EM doesn’t mean you have to take all those missiles, shocking right?

Just because YOU want it to be limited to 6 missiles for “muh service loadout” or whatever it is nowadays, doesn’t mean it should also be limited for everyone else.

so…we will get the full coverage DDM-NG.

Nah, he will come back with “i dont want to play fictional plane” because he cant comprehend that this thing exists, AdA just never bough two sticks on which you can mount missile.

Yes, said plane existed, just without any combat capability and couldn’t even fire the MICAs. The plane we have in game had said systems and the ability to fire MICAs, so is fake.

Again, am not saying you shouldn’t play it, people are allowed to play things they want to play. When I unlock the Rafale I will likely play with 8 MICAs because I do not want to artificially nerf myself.

I am expressing discontent with Gaijin going against their standards of modeling to bring it to what it is. I am also informing those who do not understand what this is and the fact that the Rafale we have in game never existed.

Prove to me a combat capable French Rafale F.3R ever existed with 8 MICAs.

Don’t waste your time because no such thing ever existed. It is thus fake.

Its in french service as we speak… its not being equiped with outer pylons. Thats all. Its still perfectly capable to carry them in combat once AdA pays.

Ok, you don’t understand what I’m getting at. I do not want to engage with you anymore as I have explained my point as simply as possible. Have a good one.

It’s literally something that never existed, so cannot be represented by either of your categories.

I’m french too, and i’ve seen several amount weird things too.

Damn everytime a thread about a top tier french aircraft is made, it always end being a breeding ground for completly useless arguments over and over lmao

I guess this is clearly fake (Indian F3R)

super sad

@WaretaGarasu, do you know how radar locking a target with the HMS works on the Rafale?

In the F-16, for example, the pilot switches to ACM and then to Bore (JHMCS then automatically slaves it). Now, the radar is constantly scanning the boresight for a target (no need to click anything to lock a target), just like ACM does in War Thunder.

In the MiG-29/Su-27, the pilot switches to a separate HMS mode, lines up the sight with the target, presses and holds the lock switch until the radar locks the target.

I am thinking of doing a bug report / suggestion on this. In WT, we have to press for the HMS to lock a target, which execute a very brief search (usually 0.2 s). As anybody here who has played this game would tell you, HMS locking is very inconsistent and you have to mash the lock button, which itself runs the risk of accidentally breaking lock too. So I am collecting some info for other aircraft.

I want to suggest to change the in-game behaviour so that either, once in HMD mode, we can press the lock key for the HMD to continually search for targets (just like ACM), or in the very least to extend the scan period of the search to 0.5 s - 1 s.

i think it might just be a bug since the Ralph and EFT’s radars are super messed up

Nah, HMD locking has always been inconsistent. 0.2 seconds for a brief scan is just too short.

Also, even if it works perfectly, you could be trying to lock a target that is in the notch and about get out of it. Why do we have to mash the lock button for that?
