They were saying something about general radar rework thats planned and that until then AESA will be a placeholder so yeah I think its highly possible.

Yeah, the height is really nice. But I despise not having a wide radar scan angle, as I play ground attack first and foremost. Wide search angles are a hell of a lot more reliable as an early warning system than tall. Though I can see tall being a lot more useful if you go for air to air primarily.

Fair. Personally both in Sim and Air RB I’ve been appreciating 60° and narrow search pattern a lot, especially on TWS. It tends to be more reliable to find targets at long range (60km+) due to faster refresh rate. the wide TWS pattern on most planes tends to just overlook some target or struggle to keep them refreshed.
On Air RB a trick I use a lot as well is to push the antenna to the right side of the gimbal in narrow search, while I’m flying left in early game. Basically I’m flying at the enemy team following the pack while keeping an eye on my TWS on the enemy team. It’s very good to find stragglers and isolated target while still flying defensive. I do get killed by planes sneaking up from under me a lot, so the 31° vertical gimbal will be very very good.

Aye, narrow search is good for tracking down a target, but for just having a general idea of approaching muppets I find wide better even if it scans slower. Though you being shot down from targets below you does show why we might value it differently, given I fly at tree top level for ground attack and I’d be really quite surprised if a muppet could strike me from below :p
Quick question, has anyone made a bug report to move the Mica that are available from the start ? Because their position prevents the carrying of any air-to-ground weaponry before unlocking the rank 4 modifications

Nope, the only change in weaponry since the dev server is the addition of Magic 2 and GBU-49
A little peeving but oh well. Still would take the other ordnance. Just would be nice to have the right amount.
