TV/IR will lock on ground and when if its “allowed” to track targets it will switch when a vehicle enters fov.
The thing that isnt working is actually inertial guidance on TV/IR and when someone smokes in place it will lock the ground in front of smoke, and when smoke disapears will not relock
Enjoy trying to found about 3500 secondary sources, to post 5300 bug-reports as the F.3R currently in Devserver is missing approximatively 75% of what it can carry, 50% of how current systems works,
Not even accounting for Flight model or even Tested/possible/unused IRL capabilities.
And all of that to have those fix coming in 3 years, when aircraft would be Dead due to F-22/F-35/Su-57 and other freak show of 5th gen.
And on a Personnal Note: a Rafale F.2.2 correctly implemented would have been a Top Dog for current 14.0/14.3 and wouldn’t need much tweaks with close-by future weaponary (MICA-IR mostly)
This could have been lately completed by:
F.3.3
F.3R
F.4
Variants,… be it C / M / B models.
And a Premium M.F1
Or the lazy solution is to bring 3 Rafale in Game(one for each M/C/B models), make it whatever in term of Standards and Tweaks them all when new attachements become available,…
(Like this Mirage 2000-5F would be the only grinding aircraft around 14.0/15.0 when everything get added to F.4 standards → those going to sit at a future 16.7 minimal)
For premium/squadron adding some Exported ones, such as QATAR or INDIA
Oh, okay. It is just that AASM-500 is currently in the files and has copy paste engine from AASM-250 and AASM-1000 is possible if we get F.4.1 in the end.
Someone on here said that MICA EM cannot be launched without a radar lock, it would work for MICA IR though i believe but obviously we don’t have that.
Honestly a MICA with placeholder accurate Magic 2 IRCCM would be quite nice fake as it is. Absolutely a menace for everyone else though.
Ate Chuet mentionned in one of its videos that firing a MICA or a Meteor was possible with IRST only. Afaik the thing has a laser built in, so it probably can do ranging
That’s was exactly my point. In reality such capability exist but it’s not present in the game, thus invalidating the theory according to which some features were removed only in NATO disadvantage .
When the MICA EM is close to the target, it will be using its own radar to lock a target. If it has not located its target, it will be controlled via it’s own INS and whatever instruction it is receiving from any kind of system, that can be completely different from its carrier.
Maybe you have heard. But was it sourced ? The amount of incorrect stuff I’ve seen going on just in the past few days for the rafale is insane. I would not trust “I heard that” or “somebody said that” unless. they provide sources. Especially when they are as easily accessible and found than those I mentioned just above.
If anyone has sources that only the IR variant uses datalink, I’m all for it. Otherwise I’d consider both of them have it since it makes more sense logistically and operationally
Edit : I myself have made several incorrect assumptions recently, but was disproven with people using sources, that allowed me to get a clearer picture. Collecting those sources also help creating reports, so that’s a bonus
