I know it has the same bullet velocity as the BK-27, but it is very inconvenient to lose 60+ rounds of ammo with just a few clicks.
Plus you have the OSF that can lock without using a radar. Just press F until you lock the enemy and it’s good to aim

Do people just not bother to conserve ammunition? I was flying it on dev when the fire rate change went through, and if you’re not holding down the trigger and only firing once you’re lined up it’ll take at most 10 rounds to knock out the target.

Depending on the distance, I am not good enough to use a no tracer gun and kill the enemy with only 10 shots.
It is even more difficult when there are only 125 rounds of ammunition and the firing rate is 2500 RPM.
It doesn’t have the same bullet as Bk-27 (27x145 for the Bk, 30x150 for the GIAT) it’s a much beefier ammo in game (in the dev server the SAPHEI had >60g TNT equivalent)
I am not talking about the amount of TNT in the ammo.
After all, if it doesn’t hit, it’s useless.
and bullet velocity should be almost the same for both the M791 and the BK-27.
What would be interesting would be to be able to fire in burst mode “no pun intended” and if that’s already the case to be able to set it either in o.5s or 1s as in reality
or use targeting pod for EEGS
They really shoulda started with the F2.2.

Yeah but i guess they wanted to make it able to fight eurofighter cause everyone complained that 6 missiles really was not ok.
Hopefully they will add some other tranche too and folder f4.1 with f4.2.

Problem is that with the state of the game rn a F2.2 wouldn’t have been competitive as a top dog. It’s a very cool aircraft that should be in the game, but it has already been powercrept. Maybe a later squadron/premium vehicle?

It wouldn’t effect much, you still get AASMs, 6 MICA-EM and then RBE2 PESA (AESA could come after and that would be the only major difference) It would be entirely fine if they just fixed the MICA

You are incorrect. AASM Laser came at a later point.
You lose DAMOCLES, GBU-24 too.
