Dassault Rafale - Variants, Characteristics, Armament and Performance

U.S. and France Working on Rafale’s Certification to Refuel F/A-18

Rafale M with carrier spawn and a redesigned game mode where those features could be useful would be nice.

i wouldnt trust a war thunder player to refuel me dude. 100% they just crash into me. Hell people crash into me when im climbing and minding my business already.

Yeah that is what i thought xd, it would have to be an automatic feature because people would crash whole time or end up breaking the thing to refuel other plane.

It’s a really interesting photo.

Interestingly the same people constantly talking about Rafale having 8 missiles loadout which was tested and also done on Indian Rafales, as well as Rafale F3 having HMDs are inconspicuously missing when it comes to Eurofighter threads for the dual AIM-9 pylons which supposedly only Spain uses in service as well as being M.I.A in Gripen/M2K/ threads when it comes to HMD being tested.

Is it the TopSight or Scorpion?

Maybe if the UK got an indian Rafale and the french players would have to fight Rafales theyd realize how absurdly broken the aircraft is atm lol

Don’t you manifest that horrible idea.

India being attached at the hip to the UK was already a mistake, letting the UK collect every last jet the world has ever made aside from the F-22 and F-2 is an unforgivable mistake.

Some of us just arent chronically online.

I’ve already said my stance on the Gripen and M2K HMDs and Im rarely/never actually looking at those threads cuz I dont like those jets as much as I do the Rafale, nor are they remotely as broken as the Rafale is, so wasting the little time I spend on the forums partaking in those threads is not something I plan on doing.

As for the EFT’s losing the twin IRAAM racks, wouldnt bother me much either, seeing as losing 33% of your ARH’s when the EFT already has one of the lower ARH counts at top tier is borderline unacceptable imo.

As Ive stated in the past, i can understand if historical inaccuracies are implemented for balancing purposes (though im not a fan), but the Rafales historical inaccuracies arent a balancing thing. The things already busted and needs to be toned down. In that case, the obvious first thing to look at are the ahistorcial buffs it has.

In-game the Rafale has Scorpion. IRL, French Rafale’s before F4 were tested with multiple HMDs with F1 variant testing TopSight at first.

so a French AF Rafale F3R should have TopSight, since afaik Scorpion only on F4?

If F1s/F2s are added ingame then it should get Topsight since they were tested with those but now that we have F3s they’re fine to get Scorpion since they were tested with that.

when did that happen?

When Gripen A was added you didn’t call for removal of HMD even though they were busted and the best vehicle in the game at the time. You also didn’t call for removal of the dual pylons when EFT were the best in the game while the Rafale only had 6 missiles maximum.

The question is not whether or not you agree with also removing these things from other aircrafts. The question is did you call for their removals at any time in the past?

You completely missed his point of how it’s the parts that make the plane overbusted are what should be looked at. I can’t comment on the Gripen, but even when the EFT was the no.1, i’d never used the double-pylon because giving up ARHs for more 9Ms just wasn’t worth it.

HMD and the two additional MICAs give the Rafale an additional edge that it simply doesn’t need cus it already has the best radar and FM in the game, EFT having more IR missiles at the expense of losing 120s was a trade-off, not a straight up upgrade. Equalling them is simply stupid and quite frankly biased on your part.

Except he’s been inconsistent on that front. He’s arguing on one hand that the 8x MICA loadout and HMD should be removed because that is what makes the Rafale “busted”. But when pointed out that the features are also available on other aircrafts which aren’t as dominating, he is okay with their removal as well. So should it be removed from solely the Rafale due to the Rafale’s dominance or should it be removed from the Rafale as well as all other aircrafts having similar grey areas?

Since 2021 according to the DGA. So quite recent.

And he’s right on that, altho it’d be busted even without them due to the fact Gaijin gave it more thrust than it should have in order to make it match available data.

So should it be removed from solely the Rafale due to the Rafale’s dominance or should it be removed from the Rafale as well as all other aircrafts having similar grey areas?

Sure? I don’t see how EFT losing a loadout option that 99.9% of its player never use would affect it but whatever. Probably why you “never see” it talked about, nobody even remembers that the dual racks exist (so there goes your gotcha moment…). I didn’t at least til I saw you mention them c:

Your reply didn’t answer my question at all. My question is, what is the underlying motivation?

I didnt play WT for a while around the time the Gripen A was added, seeing as I was moving and bpred with the game at the time. I also didnt know it wasnt supposed to have an HMD until later, because once again, I dont like the Gripen as much as the Rafale.

The EFT was never the best jet in-game, and once again, I wouldnt mind if they removed the dual pylons, nor did I ever think the dual pylons actually made it any stronger barring in niche scenarios.

Yes for the Gripens HMD, no for the EFT twin racks, largely cuz nobody brings up the twin racks due to them being so unproblematic.
