Quick question: did the Ark Royal have any armament after its 1969 refit ? From what I’ve read (quickly and without going into too much detail), the Ark Royal lost all its armament during the 1969 refit (even though it should have received Seacats), which also allowed for the widening of the flight deck.
Shea never received SeaCat as she was designed for, nor did she ever receive sea dart.
Ark royal had nothing post-refit.

Okay, that’s what I thought. So in the game, it’s not that his weaponry is disabled, it’s just that there’s no weaponry.
It depends what refit, Ark Royal was able to operate CATOBAR aircraft before the deck scheme was revised.
I’ve never actually looked into it.

as if gaijin is going to change the carriers in sim
they already had the chance back when they added the kuznetzov but they didnt do it back then
so i dont see them doing it now
Pretty annoying when the entire addition for France is a boat and this for this update…
I mean we ate quite good with the addition of Rafale F3, MAMBA and Jaguar so its obvious France wasn’t priority on this uptade.
Rafale M F3 was added as a 99% copy paste of an already existing aircraft. The SAMP/T is one of the most underperforming SAM at its BR. The Jaguar is completely overshadowed by say the BMPT. There have been 2 updates with no ground additions, same for air non copy paste vehicles.
If you start behaving « oh we got some ok vehicles 6 months ago, it’s normal that we don’t get anything now », it’s the end for your TT

First Rafale dominated top tier to this day and still performing among the best.
Despite its problems SAMP/T also performs better than other additions compare to something like BUK or NASAMS.
As for the BMPT everything is overshadowed by it, its not something special to JAG in this case.
Now sure they could’ve added new vehicles to French tree but its not at the end of the world like I’ve said.
Thing is, you are only concentrating on top tier. The rafale being an excellent plane doesn’t mean that France can’t get anything in their air tree. Not everyone plays constant top tier. France has add SPAA holes at the 7.0 BR range for years, where their tank don’t have roof mounted MG either. Many options are available at that BR.
And again, a plane being added 1+ year ago doesn’t justify adding only 1 copy paste of this exact plane in the span of 2 updates.
The jaguar, while a big hype vehicle for me, was also nothing special in term of the game. Especially since it’s lacking about half of its features, some that are even actually in game mechanics (such as the MAW found on other vehicles).
As of now, BUK still remains better than the SAMPT, with the ability to fire from its TEL without a radar, having better range than the aster 30, and is seldom used because the pantsir remains more reliable than all ARH type SPAA simply because it doesn’t suffer from multipath. The future pantsir that is going to be added is going to get even better since it’s new missile won’t have its proxy fuse deactivated by flying low to the ground.
I’m sorry, but 4 boats (a game mode that attracts less than 1% of the player base) and a copy paste plane just doesn’t cut it when it comes to 2 major updates additions. I don’t even think Japan goat that bad of a treatment at its worst

I get the NASAMs, but how is the SAMP/T better than Buk? Buk missile has lower fov, J-band, 75km seeker lock range, much bigger warhead, TEL provides tracking which provides it greater update, and the missile itself is performing horribly compared to other top tiers. Mind you, the Aster-30 is the worst performing missile out of all top tiers compared to IRL performance. It is just very underwhelming how much of its performance it is missing.

Idk if it’s on the same level, Aster 30 is missing 1/3 of it’s range and the time to reach a target according to italian docs was not fixed last i remember + the maneuverability lacking.

looks like Rafale chaff doesn’t drop 2 by 2 anymore it seems, @Kishin_SR6 just mentioned it to me, drops one by one now.
