I agree
Though it has a derivative of MICA seeker so idk

Having a derivative of mica seekerhead will be nice because of how it’s modeled in wt but other than that people think that meteor and other ramjet missiles will be some weird guaranteed kill within it’s nez when in really in wt all it’s gonna do is be 4 chaffed then trashed like every other fox 3
I’m betting that Meteor will have its place in the opening of the matches which is where the Rafale currently suffers at.
It’s time to target is gonna be pretty mediocre compared to other missiles in its class like pl-15, aim 120d or r37m/77m, I think having more acceleration is much more important for a missile than keeping its speed.
I think mica em ng is gonna be better than it
At medium ranges I can see that being the case, I can’t see that being the case at long ranges though.
im pretty sure this was the reason germany sometimes runs 4x meteor 2x amraam on their typhoons
It’s probably because amraam is cheaper than meteor I’d bet
that too but at the same time it would make more sense just to run 2x meteor and 4x amraam or just 6x amraam
Redone but includes original MICAs and to scale as well (for the horizontal distances).

What would be the new hmd from the recent leaks? TopOWL? TopSight?
Not really, you can open your game with 1x BVR MICA-EM (fire at 40 km on F-15E targets while being at 10K and MAch 1.8). Unless you mean low pK opening like F-15E spamming and hoping for the best? My openings are controlled and high pK, still not 100%, because sometimes F-15Es get spooked and go cold way too fast.
I still don’t get where that idea comes from, Meteor has solid propellant to get up to speed before the ramjet kicks in
Supposedly mica ir range is 60km, mica em is 80 km and meteor is over 200km
Idk about ng micas though, got any info?
And the missile still probably cruises at around Mach 4 - Mach 4.5. It will probably have lower peak speed but higher average speed at distance compared to fully solid propellant missiles
Bold assumption gaijin will bother to implement the ramjet correctly instead of just making it dump full power
i’ve seen cry-babies on the bug-report for 100km range ^^"
well even if the MICA-EM is not 100km,… it should be 80km (as advertized by manufacturer during years,…)
@DirectSupport : about your “scaled” scheme : i feel like in the rear aspect, both MICA-IR and MICA-EM should be getting pretty much the same range (the differences should be about 1 or 2km out maximum), as the engine is burning the same amount energy to do the 180° turn.
so the current range is based off the remainning energy after the turn, which is lower than front aspect shots, meaning a slower speed in which the MICA-IR and MICA-EM Drag differences would remain “scarce” (in comparison to front aspect shots)

Continuing the discussion from Eurofighter Typhoon - Germany's Best Fighter Jet (Part 1):
just leaving this here
To note that this presentation most probably compares directly to the Alm120C or D. Missiles like the PL15 probably have higher top speed and a bit longer burn as well. EDIT : higher top speed and burn time compared to the AMRAAM, not the meteor to be clear
Tho, on of the advantage of Meteor compared to them is its ability to keep energy and speed even at longer range since its motor would still be burning, hence why it’s NEZ is so high
Its gaijin. min power, so its super slow
