from that image I can’t really get a frame of reference of which radar is bigger cause the radar isn’t actually moutned on anything, just assumed f-2 radar is bigger because more trm

I wonder why they did away with the belly mica pylons on production rafales, imagine 10 micas

M’y guess is that they changed the way the motors are removed. On the rafale they can just be lowered, while on the rafale A I believed they were slides out like on the Mirage 2000.
This allow for extremely quick maintenance, changing an engine in 30 minutes on the Charles De Gaulle being possible.
However it might cause structural issues for adding hard points there

In practice, a French crew operating on a US carrier did the switch in a bit less than 2 hours, which, in a foreign environment is still very good.
I would also think that the 30 minutes claim can only happen with a full and skilled maintenance crew, and in practice they take more time

Although, (trivia fact alert), the Charles De Gaulle, while not being the biggest carrier, also features a pretty interesting ballast/pendulum system, allowing it to stabilize in the rolling axis even in pretty rocky weather.

First Indonesian Rafale B F.4; four TNI-AU pilots and 12 technicians are currently undergoing various stages of training, and from 20 August onwards, the pilots will continue training at Saint-Dizier Air Base until December in order to fully master mission simulations and flight exercises
