Dassault Rafale - Variants, Characteristics, Armament and Performance - Part 2

I don’t think India has meteors anyways in stock

Is the visual for meteor different than the mica? I’d think they’d use the same graphic for any medium range aams

they make the difference, between MICA-EM and IR
i think that’s not to use the same than MICA-EM on Meteors ^^"

The Meteor is long range

I thought the bomb ejectors were tanks at first I was confused lol

Lowkey kinda wish all recent aircraft having its wingtip missile launcher also be removed when you choose barebone loadout.

Pure Dorito would be cool for screenshots.

Am I schizo?
In hangar it says the Rafail has GMTI, but when you look at the Radar Modes, there is nothing with GMTI

That’s because it’s there. It’s just not in the cycled modes.

IIRC, it had it on dev-server when it was first introduced but was removed after a report was made because IRL F3R did not have it, while it was introduced with F4.1. I suppose developers forgot to remove it from the statcard.

However Rafale F3R did have air-to-surface modes even if it did not have GMTI.

surprising, did the f3r not have the same radar as the f4,1?

Yes and no

Physically speaking it’s the same radar

The difference is just software

Nope, so Gaijin would have to add a differently named radar file for the F4.1 (if/when its added) and name it something different even though they’re both called RBE2 although internally the designations are likely different.

And if they do add F4.2 separate of F4.1, they’d have to give it a different name for the radar file as well since the F4.2 incorporates GaN into the radar.

I doubt they’ll add several F4 standards, they’ll probably just pick one. Knowing them they might even do something like adding the 4.1 and then giving it some 4.2 and 4.3 features, like they did to the Su-27SM that’s closer to an SM3

I guess it would depend also on how much they want to milk the weaponry and hide it behind airframes.

Weaponry left to be added in the near future would be:

  • MICA-IR
  • MICA-NG EM
  • MICA NG IR
  • Meteor

How close is Meteor MLU to being at least tested?

Not anytime soon I’d imagine, (2030+).

i mean, u likely are better of asking the brits either way with that one

Just to make it clear, Meteor MLU = / = UK/Japan joint project which doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anymore.

I would assume they’re going from the aam4b seekerhead, to a seekerhead similar to the one found on mica em ng
