Dassault Rafale - Variants, Characteristics, Armament and Performance - Part 2

Also the Rafale’s g-pull got nerfed as well as several other aircraft, can no longer pull 17-18Gs.

how much can it do now?

Live:
Rare situations: 17-18Gs
Usual Situations: 13-14Gs

Dev:
Rare situations: 13-14Gs
Usual situations: 10-11Gs

So it’s quite a significant tune-down.

is it just pull and it still has its overall performance or did everything get nerfed so now all it can do is pull 13-14 g max

same performance

and no mention of the rafale in the datamines that would indicate otherwise

As Ron said, the files itself didn’t change. According to prae the dataminer, and I could be butchering what he said, Gaijin changed how the game engine itself reads the flightmodel files. J-10C got nerfed hard from it as well. Nothing else changed.

so it affects every single aircraft

Well, it seems the impact is different for every aircraft cause he indicates “it’s over for this thing at speed” when posting a screenshot of a J-10 pulling only 9G.

So they nerfed it down to actual realistic figures based on its stated irl G-loads finally? Cool, only took them ~2y…

Or if im understanding that above statement correctly, it still has its UFO flight model, just an instructor nerf?

Apparently the game now reads flight model file differently so it should apply outside of instructor as well. In air rb atleast, the Rafale is no longer a UFO flight model in any aspect after the g-pull nerf and after the supercruise nerf which reduced the climb-rate and acceleration of the Rafale.

@Macron-Spokesman Does Rafale M’s HMD have friendly datalink markers like the Rafale C’s Scorpion HMD?

Neither do, it was removed from the Rafale C’s scorpion when the hmd got remade following a report.

I just realized they changed it for Rafale C as well

FYI the nerf also applies to the EFT.

What surprises me is that the mig29 and F16XL are the new UFO in comparaison. They can sustain 12-13G at Mach 1

Typhoon never really went over 12G’s to begin with so it’s not a major issue, I’m not opposed to aircraft being limited to more realistic G limits, and tbh decreasing supersonic lift not sure why we are pulling 15G’s at Mach 1.4

Oh yeah I agree with you. It actually also improves the plane’s energy retention since they don’t bleed as much energy. I was just seeing Morvan gloating and thought he needed a reality check . I’m personally only surprised that this change affects different jets completely differently (ie WIP mig35 and XL with insane high speed sustained turns, while J10 on the other side pulls barely 10G apparently)

Think both aircraft will receive FM changes. That’s my expectation anyway.

This is applicable to the Rafale since it and other vehicles still do not have internal ESM modeled despite it being a feature introduced with top-tier Chinese/Russian aircraft:

the mica doesnt loft anymore on the devserver btw

It never really did, it has a 5 degree loft angle on the live. I dont know if thats changed further on the dev.
