Dassault Rafale - Variants, Characteristics, Armament and Performance - Part 2

I just realized they changed it for Rafale C as well

FYI the nerf also applies to the EFT.

What surprises me is that the mig29 and F16XL are the new UFO in comparaison. They can sustain 12-13G at Mach 1

Typhoon never really went over 12G’s to begin with so it’s not a major issue, I’m not opposed to aircraft being limited to more realistic G limits, and tbh decreasing supersonic lift not sure why we are pulling 15G’s at Mach 1.4

Oh yeah I agree with you. It actually also improves the plane’s energy retention since they don’t bleed as much energy. I was just seeing Morvan gloating and thought he needed a reality check . I’m personally only surprised that this change affects different jets completely differently (ie WIP mig35 and XL with insane high speed sustained turns, while J10 on the other side pulls barely 10G apparently)

Think both aircraft will receive FM changes. That’s my expectation anyway.

This is applicable to the Rafale since it and other vehicles still do not have internal ESM modeled despite it being a feature introduced with top-tier Chinese/Russian aircraft:

the mica doesnt loft anymore on the devserver btw

It never really did, it has a 5 degree loft angle on the live. I dont know if thats changed further on the dev.

i just flies like straight at any range from what i saw

I did a quick check, 5 degree loft on live and 5 degree loft on the latest github still, so there was no loft change in that aspect.

Would be weird anyway for there to be no loft on MICA (8:30 timestamp), video published prior to Meteor integration on Rafales.

the mica wasnt changed

Previous to today, we only had the AM39 Exocet Block 2 model, today we now have the actual blk file that tells us how it’ll behave. The good thing is that we get to preview its performance and see what needs to be changed.

Yeah, because it massively nerfs the Rafale, as it can consistantly hit these very high G loads, whilst I dont think it will have ANY impact at all on the Typhoon as it cannot.

Given just how much the Rafale is overperforming. Its a much appreciated change. Just need to fix its drag now. Like actually give it the same drag as every other aircraft in-game. Though maybe they’ll finally buff the Typhoon’s FM with these changes.

So maybe you need a reality check?

I tested the FM a bit on dev server.

Where I was able to hit 13/14g’s before I know cap at 12. So I think it does in fact impact the Eurofighter.

Ive never gotten that high in the Typhoon in “real world” conditions.

Rarely get above 10 with actual warload and enough fuel for a typical match.

Whislt ive seen Rafales hitting like 18Gs

Forgot to mention I meant clean wing config.

As I usually duel in custom lobbies, and I definitely hit 13/14g’s with no armament before.

Can’t do the same now.

On live yeah, on dev now it caps at 14.

So proportionally its a far higher nerf for the Rafale. Though if the Typhoon caps at 12, why does the Rafale cap at 14. Should they not be both capped to the same amount?

Just tested on live in my usual config, I briefly hit 11G, so it doesnt affect me at all

I have no idea on this tbh, sorry.

Especially given the Rafale should be lower than the Typhoon I think. So maybe it needs to be reported.

That already happened when the supercruise nerf came, it nerfed its drag which affected acceleration and topspeed effectively. You’re still stuck in 2025 tbh.
