With the addition of the L-39ZA this will be the 5th Czech / Slovakia vehicle in the USSR tech-tree. As we have also seen with the addition of BeNeLux sub-tree for France and Swiss sub-tree for Germany having 5 lines doesn’t exempt you from getting a sub-tree.
Czechoslovakia is the most likely sub-tree for USSR at this point as a will for fill a role and fill gaps the USSR tree cant do, such as fire and forget ATGMs like Spikes and good reverse speeds for tanks like the Czech T-72s and Leopards.
This means we could possible see the Czech F-35A in the USSR tree in the future. With the recent leaks of 5th Gen fighters coming this year, it could happen soon rather than later.
I think Czech is not confirmed to be part of USSR as a sub-tech tree but time will tell though some Czech are very interesting and should be in-game regardless how it’s implemented.
Czechoslovakia and it’s successors have some of the largest amounts of vehicles that are different to existing ones in game (there is Czechoslovakia ground proposal with 183 vehicles and only ten one to one copies Vs 120 original vehicles and the rest are upgrades of existing vehicles), placing it in the USSR would be a waste of vehicles for both parties (even if you only want it in for western equipment).

I would prefer not, it’s already bad enough they are using India to shoe horn Russian tech into the UK. It’s one thing to add equipment that was Czech built and used by Russia like the L-39ZA, or British having the tanks they build for India. But things like the Mig-21 BISON and the T-90 Bhishma that where Built by Russia for India (or largely, I think India domestically built some of the T-90s) have no business being in the UK tree just because India is a former colony (and no, the “commonwealth nation” argument doesn’t hold water, as India is a commonwealth republic, not a commonwealth realm.)
Same with the F-35, it has no business in the Russian tree (they probably should update it from USSR) just because it’s used by former USSR states.
No. There sufficient domestic vehicles to fill the same role as F-35. The game already has an issue with proliferation of WARPACT vehicles through BLUEFOR via third countries we dont also need the inverse.
If anything, this would encourage more of pact/blue for vehicles going to the other side making it even worse.
I love playing UK air and wish it had more stuff but I never wanted a Mig 21 and certainly don’t want the Indian Rafael and Mig 29 in when there are better places for said vehicles.
It also hurts to see because despite the vast amount of Czechoslovakian (and successors) vehicles that would be new, some people only care about leopard 2s and other higher tier vehicles with no differences (also the USSR has way better options in Iran and NK for subtrees). That’s how you end up with Hungary not having a single original aircraft (possibly barring the gripen as I believe it differs in armament from the other C variants) and all the current Benelux ground rep consisting of one to one leopard 2 clones
