i think its bcs for some reason all ir missiles target the bottom part of helis by default, when in reality it should always go for upper engine compartment as the most heat one
I wonder how will people rate the CS/SA5 now that it has DL + LOAL on missiles.
I really want to improve the radar. I can’t believe that such a new air defense system doesn’t have radar target identification. I want to see if it’s an airplane, a helicopter, or a missile. (I really want to see the target model, whether it’s a Rafale, a Flanker, or an EF-2000)
It’s still mostly meh, all this change did was allow it to hit drones and helicopters past 4km.
The largest issue is still the slow missile with no energy to hit maneuvering targets
If they increase it’s weight, energy retention and speed it would be worth 12.0
Atm id put it on par or slightly lower than the TOR/HQ17
Im playing it in Sqb and ground realistic and I have to disagree.
This should not be played as a Pantsir or a IRST system, but as a LAV-AD.
Making use of the speed, smoke and using building as a cover, then being able to fire and forget a missile, makes this system not at all similar to a Pantsir that needs to keep its track up.
Therefor even tho the missile flight performance is a insult to what it probably is in real life, i still think it stands equal to pantsirs and Irst’s as a valid option for top tier anti air.
Also saying it has a lower performance than the TOR and HQ17 is blatenly just not true, not even the Spyder and the FlaRakRad deserves that honor.
You have to spend more effort to play the CS/SA5 because it’s harder to play. Of course with the right skills it’s equal to pantsirs and whatnot but that doesn’t make it a good vehicle.
Maybe only in anti-air way as LAV, but anything else? SA5 doesnt have mobility nor profile (it huge) to be as aggressive as LAV can
AHDEAD round can not intercept missiles when fire from the side of it, even it’s within 2km.
Another bug is back that after radar lock it wont fire FB-10A.
One of the worst parts about this SAM, which is preventing me from grinding it, is to see how the slightly better and more tolerable missile is locked behind a grind/paywall.
It’s the ONLY one of the new Sam’s thst needs to start off with a worse missile than the better available one, for some odd reason.
Except it is true. The HQ-17 can easily kill anything between 2-10km and it can actually reach its max range of 15km
While the FB-10A can barely hit a moving jet past 4km
The only thing the CS/SA5 does better is it has a gun for self defense up close
And you have barely 30 games played in it and a negative KD and <50%WR
I have 120 games played a 2KD and >50%WR.
So no need to try and lecture me on how to play it
The funny part is
There is no proof it can use the FB-10 missile
Since the FB-10 uses a smaller launch tube
So we have to grind through a missile it can’t even use
they added it just to make stock grind worse as much as they could, like they did with flarakrad giving it roland 3 as stock missile
