When the missile is fired, it receives target position updates from the launch platform untill it gets within seeker range. Then it enables it’s seeker and tracks using it.
The same way ARH missiles work in game.

Let’s say missile seeker range is 6km, but target is 11km away. For the first 5km missile gets update of target position from your platform, and when it gets within the 6km seeker range it stops receiving DL and uses its own seeker.

Whilst i have a certain level of understanding for promoting CHN hardware (thx to your Chinese investor) i am not really sure why you present the 8x8 version introduced in 2021.
My son as somehow addicted to Ground RB complains way too often that most TTs have far older AA systems (or hardware in general) at their disposal and those vehicles are often implemented based on assumptions as most of their actual performance data is classified.
So adding more or less brand new weapon systems first to a TT which already covers vehicles from Western & Eastern manufacturers seems a little bit too much…

I have to say, I’m very disappointed with the vehicles announced so far.
Why are they all short range? They might be effective against the stuff which comes close but they’re going to be useless against the actual problem.
What is the actual problem with giving decent range systems instead of ones which are outranged by their opponents at their introduction? Why must the balance always be tilted towards aircraft?
next devblog would be a completely new vehicle that they havent tease us before, so im really looking forward to it. So far all the devblog are vehicles were leaked a little while ago so the rest a completely new.
i just wonder why the range of the missle is not more specifyed in this devblog. i do not understand why this decision was made. i think its either to prevent discussions if this vehicle outranges the EldE and makes it basicly a joke, or they are not sure what they want to give us, in both i see no positive advantage

I think no. Maybe the copy paste type81 or little better. But the ir rockets complete jokes in toptier. Seeker cant see the enemy planes just too close range and only see the helis under ~4km and the “manpads” shitty programmed rockets in wt. This spaa 90% gone useless and doa if they put 11.0+
