Both Koreas see themselves as Korea, it’s the same exact situation as China.
It’s quite literally the least controversial thing.

Korean tree has been my dream since modern vehicles were first introduced to War Thunder. I’ve wanted the K1, K1A1 and K2 more than anything else and I’m so excited now that we’ve finally got confirmation the tree is coming (though none of these vehicles are confirmed). Really pleased with this update.

I personally disagree, though I wouldn’t have been upset if they were split. I personally don’t like subtrees and would prefer full independent nations wherever possible so this is the best outcome for me.

Realism doesn’t mean history/historical reenactment.
There are many videos on “realism vs historical authenticity”, and there are dictionaries to help you in that direction as well.
War Thunder is first and foremost a war games simulation.
Real life war games do far, far less fun things than War Thunder does; such as T-34-85s vs M1A1 Abrams.
Something War Thunder won’t let you do without you putting a high enough BR vehicle with your T-34-85.
Real life war games get far more asymmetric than War Thunder’s simulation.
