GCS-1: Coming to Japan in the next major update will be the GCS-1. This is a self-guided bomb that can lock onto large targets emitting heat within the IR range (for example, ships), which cross into the view of their homing head. This is an entirely new type of guidance that isn’t quite the same as anything else in game bomb wise: it is released like a free-fall bomb, but in flight, it activates a search mode and locks onto the target autonomously. So a unique one for sure! You can look forward to this one on Japanese platforms that carried it soon.

WE177A: For Nuclear Escalation, a brand new nuclear bomb will be joining the game. The British WE177A is a standard free-fall nuclear bomb that can be carried by Tornado GR.1 in game. This was the last Nuclear Bomb used by the RAF, with the Tornado being the last aircraft to carry it. You can put this new nuke to the test in Nuclear Escalation!

So is the default aircraft being changed to a GR1 from the current ASSTA1 or is it coming as a loadout option to the TT GR1?

Cluster Bombs: That’s right! An entirely new type of weapon will be coming to the game. It’s too soon to go into the details fully just yet, as we have more to reveal on this later. However this new type of bomb will be perfect for Nuclear Escalation and taking out columns or groups of armoured vehicles. These are specialist anti-tank bombs generally designed to cover an area rather than a specific point or target. We should note, these bombs won’t be available in standard Ground Battles. But it will be a weapon unique to Air Battles, primarily for Nuclear Escalation. Stay tuned to the news for more ahead!

Sweet, that is one way to balance

Hoping we see this method of balance used for every other weapon denied because of “GRB Balance” such as ARMs on various aircraft and more advanced A2G weapons like proper Brimstones/Spear

seriously the 35mm KDA spaas need something serious done to stop them being nuke printers against tanks. I personally want every AP and APDS shell removed so they are forced to be SPAA only.

Yeah first time an armament has been restricted to a mode but we have seen it previously where KH-31’s on the MiG-27 have been BR restricted within NE.

That theyve actually done yes. They were considering banning the KH-31 ASM from NE a few weeks ago, which suggested it was possible to gamemode restrict weapons, something I dont think they ever confirmed before.

Im hoping this means that ALL possible A2G weapons will be added to all aircraft and then just restricted in GRB.

They can keep the small APDS belt, but the (S)APHE has to be nerfed and the belts need to be fixed to 3 HEI + 1 (S)APHE

They cannot move up in BR unless Gaijin finds a bunch of radar SPAAGs to take their place

Will we get both dumb cluster bombs (those that do not have guidance and impact the ground like the CBU-24) and smart cluster bombs (those that have IR guidance and shoot heat jets at detected targets like the CBU-97) or only dumb ones?

Also, can we expect to see any other new high tier air additions this update? Without naming anything or any nation of course, just a general question.

Right, let’s dive into some of the ground vehicles you can expect. China will be receiving the ZBD04 IFV, and the Dutch Cheetah PRTL will be arriving to France to support the SPAA line.

A Thai Firefly Mk 1 and an Indonesian Avia B-33 will be introduced for Japan, providing more flexible ground attack options.

yes they can. they are facing ww2 era jets despite being from the 70s and 80s. even for anti air they are unfair at 8.3-9.0
