Already was confirmed by smin that there is only the Avia B-33 for Indonesian air
Can get them through weapon compatibility possibly
I am fairly certain that they both use different APDS munition.
Muzzle-Velocities listed for +15°C and therefore APDS-T w/ MV=1385m/s is TLD-038 (i.e. DM 23)
The other types (minus the HEI-T because that wasnt used by the BW) are identical to german DM 11 A1 / DM 21 HEI and DM 13 / DM 13 A1 (S)APHEI-T.
The APDS-T shell shown here is PMD 369 not TLD-038, this can be seen by looking at the sabot and/or ballistic-cap on the projectile (such is not present on TLD-038).
This becomes a bit clearer when looking at a earlier NDIA presentation;
What we can see here is that the dutch re-used DM 33 FAPDS (idk why it says with tracer, DM 33 is tracerless…), aswell as MLD-040 (PMD-040) HEI-T, so that shell would also be a option I suppose… (BW never used it)
However, more importantly, “APDS-T, nr555” and “APFSDS-T, PMD343” were still under development then, the APDS-T being PMD369 that became available later (see: presentation above).
As such, it is safe to assume that APFSDS-T was never available for PRTL, nor GWI, however, at best, a mixture of the standard Oerlikon 35x228 lineup (MLD-040 HEI-T, DM 11 A1 / MSD-042 HEI, DM 13 / PLD-044 APHEI-T) and DM 23 / TLD-038 APDS-T for PRTL, and in case of GWI, the same but with the addition of DM 33 FAPDS as primary anti-aircraft munition.
And no, it never had programmers, KETF/ABM is unvailable (for PRTL / PRTL GWI)
As reference, this is the initial bundeswehr-lineup of 35x228mm ammunition:
Dummy, TLD-038 APDS-T, PLD-044 APHEI-T, MSD-042 HEI, ULD-034 TP-T
Other types used by the BW (but not shown here) were; DM 21 HEI (DM 11 A1 but indent above guide-ring), DM 31 HE-T / HE-MP (Base fuzed HEI-Multi Purpose shell, made by Diehl), DM 28 A1 BREAK-UP & DM 33 FAPDS
Why is KF41 Lynx only for Hungary aka Italy I think, It should be in Germany too since it’s Rheinmetall
It’s using programmable travel distance ammunition
Already answered.
you know saying something and actually doing it are two different things
What’s the need. Germany have puma what is better in everyway plus Germany doesn’t use kf41.
Britain has no SPAA to fill that 5.7 to 8.0 hole. And i dont see anything about this being mentioned. Shouldn’t this be high on the priority list ? Pretty infuriating having to make do with 5.3 free-kill pinatas at 7.7.
Thats me i love my Aussie, Canadian and Indian stuff
in stead of BR i would say anything from rank 4 to rank 7 is mid rank
With the Dutch Cheetah PRTL now going to France, I think it is fair to ask whether Italy could finally receive a proper 35 mm radar SPAAG as well.
This is not meant as a complaint about France getting the Cheetah. France already has the AMX-30 DCA, while Italy still has to rely on the SIDAM 25 in this part of the tree, with no radar search capability and a significantly different level of effectiveness.
Italy also has several historically plausible options, so this would not necessarily require an arbitrary addition: the 35 mm Oerlikon/Gepard-type vehicle tested by Italy, an OF-40-based 35 mm SPAAG, or potentially a Romanian Gepard if Gaijin prefers a subtree solution.
Since the Gepard/PRTL family is already being expanded to other nations, it would be nice to know whether a comparable 35 mm radar SPAAG is also being considered for Italy.
Again, this is not a “France should not get it” argument. The question is simply why Italy, which arguably needs this type of vehicle more, still has no equivalent.
No plans for that right now to speak of. Japan will receive the Thai Firefly and Indonesian B-33 this update.
Helllo
Not this major update for sure in terms of that spesifically. We have other plans for Italy.
Generally thinks Ranks III-V. Not going to give spesific BR ranges, as it narrows down what it could be.
south africa Cheetah soooon🥀
Any possibility regarding a swiss ground sub tree for Germany yet?
Spoiler
I’m being impatient asf but 🥀 I want silly swiss cars
I don’t like the current situation unfolding within the Japanese tech tree.
First of all, Smin claims that:
Then they add the B-33, and now they’re even claiming that:
To me, this is concerning. It suggests that nothing beyond meaningless space fillers, which are the cheapest copy & paste, is planned to be added. And native designs or unique and interesting vehicles will be ignored or added as premium.
Why is the Avia B-33 being added if it doesn’t fill any gap? At BR 5.0 Japan has no ground forces, and almost no one uses CAS planes in air battles. On top of that, the Avia B-33, which is basically an Il-10, doesn’t even have any effective or large CAS payload (Japanese fighters can carry a similar bomb load). And at BR 5.7, where Japan does have ground forces, there’s the Mitsubishi A6M5 Hei, which is better than it. It’s the same with the Firefly FR Mk. 1, although it does fill a gap better, because at BR 3.3 Japan could use an effective CAS plane (of course, there are the Japanese D4Y3 Ko and Ki-102 Otsu). I really don’t understand these decisions that end up blocking space for Japanese planes with planes that are basically the simplest form of C&P.
FINALLY THE GCS-1 !!!
Since it was said that it shouldn’t be used in a arbor because it could lock on nearby fire or even kitchen, is there a possibility for it to lock tank engines ? that would be peak
