it is total day after dev server’s closed until major update happen lol
do you think like after today dev server closed they will do major update tomorrow ? read wisely the spreadsheet table
there was no dev server
there was no trailer
and there also wasnt a dev stream

Why did u guys disable them in the WIP launcher for war thunder. they was working fine. atleast for the ones ive tested out
Hi everyone.
We had to disable the ability to use sound mods after they were introduced in Update 2.55.1.137 in the WiP client. We know how much you love sound mods, and the sound design team is doing everything they can to restore this feature as soon as possible (both in the WiP client first, and then in the main game client). We fully understand your frustration, but sound mods right now are causing too many game crashes on the WiP client. Once again, we apologize for the situation and the confusion caused by disabling this feature again without mentioning it in the changelog.
As soon as we have more information on this matter, we’ll share it with you. Our current plan at the moment is to re-integrate them into the game with the next Open Dev server.

Seriously? You guys can’t even make it work a sound mod even after 2 months?
FYI WIP client was working perfectly fine with mods and didn’t had single crash during my gameplay, it was the same case before first disabling as well.

Same thing with me and about dozens of friends of mine, never had any issues before the disabling, never had issues when it came back. It’s starting to get really annoying when you considering the base game sounds are absolute trash, to be respectful.
Sound mods are client related, and are the responsability of Modders and Consumers, Not the one of Gaijin. Is people are experiencing crash, it’s prob cause the mod is too old anyway.

Exactly or their pc simply cant handle the current game.
For example I had to use my old 1070 before fixing my 1080ti and had multiple crashes during that time due to VRAM wasn’t enough to render 4-8k custom skins, as soon as I switched back to my 1080ti problem was solved.
I get it, not everyone has access to latest gen or can afford it but just because they intentionally pushing their pc’s to limit doesnt mean other players should get punished.

It has nothing to do with Old vs. New. Its a compatibility issue with certain hardware/software. It could be brand new stuff that is causing crashes. If anything is outdated, its the war thunder sound mod framework which is why its taking so long to fix

It’s a genuine question, i’m not well versed in the subject.
That was the original plan which is why it was on the WiP client only after a partial fix but they said there was still too many crashes to keep it open

I really hope it doesn’t take another 2 months, atp i might just uninstall WT until they put them back up.
I can’t possibly think of how a company like Gaijin can’t have atleast decent basic sounds without mods.
Not to mention their only explanation is “Causing crash”, i’m sure if we had more details the community could even try and help a bit

Default sounds are not that bad, if you cant do good without sound mods then you werent good in the first place

Oh i can play fine, i just don’t like them, it’s more personnal taste than actual difference gamewise
Well yeah, they havent updated the sound mod stuff in years. Graphics and sound drivers get continually updated and gaijin didnt keep up with it
Ah typical “skill issue” card, so 2020 behavior.
Get over this mindset, most people use sound mod including me because of realistic vibe and actually want to hear real engine sounds,VWS and gun sounds rather than gaining this so called “advantages” which is the opposite btw.
