Fixing AIM-120C-5 and AIM-120D could technically both happen, even though I’m absolutely sure it won’t.
Gaijin sees nations struggling (US and China) at top tier air and AIM-120D and PL-12A are their way to help them (meanwhile Israel top tier air is just beyond dead though).
I wouldn’t say “don’t use their heads mucht” but rather “don’t play their own game” or at least not all nations and modes equally. Of course everybody would play the nations and modes they either identify and/or have the most fun with preferably, while at the same time don’t want to break the “fun” for themselves. If you encounter a good player which “wrecks your fun by being good” you’re much more emotionally inclined to either buff your “fun-nation” or nerf your “enemy-nation”. So it’s either emotional bias or selective perception combined with confirmation bias while reading statistics.
They have had some decent ideas in the past. The F/A-18C was to get 120C-5 to compensate for it’s weaknesses while the F-15E and EFT would remain with 120B, but they caved to pressure of nation mains from multiple nations and we know how that ended.
So Gaijin often doesn’t know how to balance stuff, but a lot of the single nation mains here also have either no clue about balance or actively fight against it. Making things even worse.
C-5s are a downgrade in 90% of scenarios, gaijin added a false upgrade that catches out anyone who doesn’t do 5 seconds of research for no good reason.
